Waking up, I noticed that I was not in my hotel room and realized later that I was laying on someone. As I tried to open my eyes to focus, I got startled that it was Athea and I ended up falling off.
"Hey are you okay Drew?" She looked so peaceful and felt bad for waking her up in the process of falling. She was leaning over the bed staring at me, trying to hold her laugh. I just nodded my head, confirming that I was okay. We started laughing in unison. "Okay, let's go get ready and have some good food nearby a restaurant." I did not want to speak to her in any form of way. Flashes of memory from last night kept coming into my mind. She gave me some clothes to take a shower as she went to her room to do the same.
In the shower I remembered a few pieces from last night after I laid down. I started to strip and danced around in my birthday suit. Athea was just laughing. I felt heat rise to my cheek. I almost kissed Athea. I hurried up and got dressed as quickly as possible and freshened up with whatever I found in my purse. I heard a soft knock at the door. "Come in."
My face started to turn red." Hey, are you ready? Wow, the clothes look better than I thought. I thought they were going to be too big. Since they are the smallest clothes I found". She was definitely tall, and I was just about two feet shorter than she was.
"Thank you a ton honestly", I was surprised at how sweet she was treating me. "But I'm ready".
"Alright, let's head on out." Once we got to the restaurant, it looked so cute and wholesome. I loved the smell and how good the food looked. "I called them earlier to make some of the dishes we like" I paused, confused about how she knew, but before I asked she answered quickly. "I texted Rune and asked so I just do not get random food that you don't like". A small smile formed on my face, and it was very sweet of her to do.
I got closer to her and whispered, "Thank you, but you didn't have to". She waved her hand off and proceeded to lead me to the table outside the garden. Her hand touched the nook of my lower back and sent chills throughout my body. I tried to avoid it, because why am I being aware of this? She pulled my chair for me to sit down, and I felt like she did so much more than Kye had ever done. Wanting to get the food I like ordering. But flashes of last night appeared again, but this time I had tried to pull her to dance with me while nothing on. Heat rose up my face once again and this time I could not hide it from Athea.
"Are you okay?" I could not say anything but nod. "Good" her smile made everyone want to look at her for hours. But she's just a girl I find pretty nothing more. Some people around us stared at her goddess-like features. I wasn't surprised I was one of those fools. Mid-way done with eating. We had simple conversations about the ideas for the program.
I tried to avoid eye contact with her about how intense and contrasting hers were to mine. " So what happened yesterday if you don't mind me asking?" Wait, Rune was able to keep his mouth shut and not spill my current business. Who would have thought?
"Well, interesting enough, I got cheated on by my fiancé, with Alexandra, the daughter of one of your managers." She just looked at me with pity. "After the meeting yesterday prepared things to surprise Kye with, my fiancé, and ended up coming face to face with her. She had clothes on that just gave you the whole picture of what she looked like underneath it all". Athea nodded and just shook her head in disapproval of what happened. " I was heartbroken, and now I understood why he ended up postponing the wedding and canceling everything before I was aware. "They completely made me feel terrible.
"Im truly sorry that happened to you, he is pathetic to lose something as pure and beautiful as you. May I say fun and fine as you." I laughed but my face turned red.
"My bad about everything I did yesterday. Only small memories of yesterday come into mind. But I don't really remember much from yesterday." I said, starring at my hands. She raised my face with her fingertips on my chin and I felt my breath pitch in my throat.
She leaned closer, "Don't ever feel like you have to filter yourself around me. You think your bad I'm way worse than you think". I couldn't help but laugh and almost choked eating the last pieces of my breakfast. "On top of that, the sight that I had last night was hot as hell to watch, of course, just informing you with all due respect". I almost died right there after she threw a wink at me. She was sober, of course she was, and I can't remember everything that happened.
"You are very sweet to say that, but you can just say I was being crazy. I'm heading back home tomorrow. I'll see ya when you're back in the city. Thank you so much for the food and your kind company". She gave me a hug as I headed back to the hotel I'm staying at. When I got to my suite, all I could do was be grateful everything turned out better than expected. My headache was pounding louder and the after effects from yesterday were attacking me for most of the day. I got everything packed and ready to go.
Heading out, I almost bumped into Kye. But I managed to quickly check out before he got a glimpse of me. He started heading my way and yelling my name. I didn't have any time before I got into the back seat of the car. The driver drove off before giving Kye the chance to catch up. I won't see him for a while anyway. He won't sacrifice working on this big opportunity for me. He's never placed me first, and he won't start now.
I was waiting to board and I saw a familiar face. It was Athea waving at me, "I guess we are flying together again." A small smirk appeared. We had the longest conversation and enjoyed one another's company. I felt like we finished years of planning and ideas for the program and connected on a different level.
