Lila's POV It was a peaceful, frigid night. Watching over the dark trees, the moon hovered high like a pale eye. I held Aria close as I stood in the center of the camp, close to the fire. Her head was on my shoulder and her little fists were gripping my shirt. Her gentle breaths warmed my neck as she fell into a half-slumber. There was tension in the pack. Nobody said much. Even if we didn't express it out, we all sensed danger was coming. Kian stood a little distance away, conversing with Nathaniel in hushed tones. His shoulders were rigid, his jaw tense.
