As we huddled behind the rocky rocks that overlooked Hayden's fortress, the wind howled through the thick jungle. With its stone walls strengthened and guards roaming the perimeter, the building loomed ahead, dark and intimidating. My breath was audible in the chilly night air as I took in the scene, my heart thumping in my ears.
Kian was standing next to me, his muscles clenched like a predator about to attack. On my opposite side, Kael knelt, his keen eyes looking for gaps in the fortress's fortifications. There was just one opportunity for us to enter, locate Aria, and exit.
There was no room for failure.
