Looking at the entrance, a woman got out of a sleek car. She had the structure of the woman I met at home yesterday. That's probably who I'm to meet up with.
Getting up, ready to meet her. She entered the shop gracefully.
Wow, she's very classy. Looking back down at my attire, I felt slightly out of place. I shrugged the thought off.
The receptionist hurriedly greeted her and pointed to me.
“Hello Roselyn, oh dear, I'm so sorry for keeping you waiting. I'm not normally late” she said calmly.
“Please don't worry, what matters is we're here now”, I said smiling.
“Okay then, let's start. We have a lot of dresses to try on” she said excitedly.
A lot of dresses??? I have to get back to work soon!! Oh Lord please take me through this fast. I mentally prayed.
I followed her into a small dressing room with a big mirror. The place is beautiful, outside was just a tip of the iceberg.
The receptionist immediately entered with other ladies following right behind her with a lot of wedding gowns. In fact, a lot is an understatement. They were A WHOLE LOT !!
“To start, let's say a short prayer. Let this be fruitful, Amen” she prayed very eager to see the dresses.
New to that, I just murmured an Amen.
She handed one gown over to me and pushed me to the smaller aspect of the dressing room.
Frantically removing my casual outfit, I wore the first gown. It was a mermaid tailed gown, with a low back. It had a silky feel, with long-sleeves.
Walking out with the help of one of the girls, I stood facing the mirror. The girl fixed the veil, making it trail down and spreading it wide on the floor.
I looked beautiful, very very beautiful. Wow.
“You look beautiful !!” the woman exclaimed.
“Thank you ma'am” I said blushing.
“Oh no, don't call me ma'am. I'm still young, not an oldie.” She said laughing
“Call me Bridget or even better, Mum” she said winking.
I smiled, contemplating which one to call her. She is really excited about the whole engagement.
“Let's try more dresses, then we choose from the best.” She said happily.
Walking into the smaller room, I tried more dresses with the help of the girl.
The last gown caught me off guard. It was also a low-back mermaid gown. The tail trailing to the far back. The trail was detachable. The sleeves were of a bridal net.
It was made of silk, smooth and beautiful, giving class. The girl fixed the veil which also trailed down my back. Looking at the mirror, this dress brought out my body shape perfectly. It was just elegant.
I love this!!
“Perfect!!! That's the look I've been waiting for!” She said excitedly.
This woman sure has some energy. I smiled, admiring myself.
After changing back into my casual outfits, I moved to the reception. Bridget added heels to match and some jewellery.
She paid for everything at the counter and signaled to me to come over.
Getting up, I moved towards her. Helping her grab the items, we moved towards the car outside. The driver immediately got out to help us pack them into the car.
Standing there waiting for an instruction, Bridget said, “Get in, let's have some lunch”.
I joined her in the car. She made calls as I just blacked out into my own thoughts whilst viewing the city.
I felt a tap on my shoulder jolting me awake. “Roselyn, we're here” said Bridget.
I must've slept off.
Getting out of the car and following Bridget, we entered a cute restaurant.
We were given a table. Bridget, probably noticing my indecisiveness, quickly ordered for us.
In a few minutes, the food was served. I took my spoon to eat only to be tapped. Looking up, Bridget smiled.
“Let's say a word first. Bless this meal and bless the one who prepared it, Amen.” She prayed, opening her eyes.
“Amen.” I murmured
Whilst eating, Bridget tried to raise small conversations concerning the wedding preparations.
We left the restaurant after our meal.
“Let's drop you at home dear.” said Bridget
“Oh no please, don't worry about me. I'll be going to work to lock up.” I said
“Are you sure you'll be okay?” she asked worriedly.
“Yes please, thank you for today.” I said smiling.
Watching her leave in her car, I took a deep breath and stopped a cab.
What a day!
