What's that bright light? Squinting my eyes open, I realised it's already morning.
Forcing myself out of bed, I took my phone to check the time. 9am??!!! Whatttt!!
I hurriedly rushed to the bathroom to prepare.
Within 10 minutes, I rushed back out, taking my bag and phone with my keys.
Rushing out of my room, I bumped into dad. “Sorry..” I said whilst fixing my attire.
“Erhm, Rosie…” dad started
“Please don't call me that” I said, annoyed.
Ignoring me, he said, “Your wedding date is out, the 25th of this month. Today is your dress fitting so you'll be meeting Dean's mother at the wedding gown shop.”
“Who's Dean?” I asked him confused.
“That's the heir to the IT company you're marrying” he said
So it's not a dream. It's actually going to happen. Brushing past him and entering the kitchen, I made some coffee before heading out of the house.
Still in thought as I walked down the alley to the cafe shop, I bumped into someone again for the second time today! The coffee I made poured on my clothes and whoever I bumped into.
Cleaning it aggressively, I heard a male's voice. “I'm so so sorry, sorry, sorry..” he said frantically whilst cleaning up himself as well.
Raising my head, he was a young guy, probably 27 years of age with brown eyes and black curly hair. Quite handsome, I must say. I immediately snapped out of it.
“I apologise for this too, I should've been more focused instead of day dreaming” I ranted, laughing uncomfortably.
Roselyn, snap out of it. I face palmed myself.
Suddenly, I heard a cute giggle.
This guy is cute.
Looking at the time, I was very late.
“Erhm, I'm sorry about this but I'm late, I'm very sorry about this, Sir.”
Walking very fast, I finally got to the cafe shop.
Hailey saw me first, giving me a sign to use the back. I immediately entered through the back door. As soon as I entered, the manager came in.
“Roselyn, you're late. What happened?” She asked.
“It's a long story. It won't happen again, I promise.” I said with an eager expression.
“Get to work. People are lining up.” She said, dismissing what I said.
Wearing my apron, I walked out to start serving.
Soon, it was noon. The place was calmer now. Taking out my phone, I decided to go through some messages and the Internet.
One particular message caught my attention. It read;
》》》》》
“Ezra's Wedding shop, @ 2pm”
~ unknown number
《《《《《
I almost forgot I'm getting married and I'll have to go dress fitting today. This number is an unknown number. Probably, that guy's number. What's his name again? I think it's Dean…right?
Looking at the time, it's 12:30pm. A few hours more. Well, let me use that for cleaning up.
At 1:30 p.m., I asked Hailey to cover for me. I started my journey to the wedding shop which is in the next town.
Immediately I left the cafe. I hailed a cab, got in, and headed for the location given to me.
New York City is beautiful. It has beautiful skyscrapers, making me stare out of the window.
What if this becomes my new life? I could gather up my savings and study whilst being a wife. No cell, no restrictions. I could get used to this.
Still in thought, I felt a wave over my face.
“Hello, please, we're here” he said.
Snapping back to reality, I paid him and got out of the car. Looking right in front of me was a big wedding dress shop, with beautiful dresses being displayed through the transparent glass doors.
Not knowing what to do, I decided to enter the shop.
“Hello, please, I'm supposed to meet someone here for dress fitting” informing the receptionist.
“Kindly give your name..” she said whilst looking through her book.
“Roselyn..” I said
“Oh okay, please have a seat here, Madam will be in soon to help you through the process.” She stated as she directed me to my seat.
