LEVI DEL CAMPA It had been five weeks since the incident, and Zesa had yet to regain consciousness. We’d been told she had become stable, and all we had to do was hope she would wake up soon. I wanted to hold her in my arms and tell her everything that had happened. Like Nina getting sentenced to twenty-one years in prison for attempted murder. I wanted to tell her how much I missed her, but I wondered if I would ever get the chance. I sat beside her bed with her hand in mine. They had removed the oxygen mask and replaced it with a nasal cannula and moved her from the Intensive care unit to the step-down unit.
