Chapter 19 Jamie
Jamie bent, placing his hands on his knees, willing his heart to slow. His legs already felt like lead and they hadn’t gotten out of the castle yet. Jamie had insisted on guiding each group up the stairs while they waited. He had climbed the stairs four times, each time pausing before ascending to give Queen Moraine a small shake. Jamie stood, feeling a stitch form in his side. We have to go. Jamie turned to the last cell, the one the queen lay still asleep in. “Moraine?” Jamie called, struggling with this last lock. The queen didn’t move. “Queen Moraine! We need to go."
