Chapter 29 Ward The library was lit up with what had to be at least a thousand candles. Each window held a single flickering flame and the doorway was filled with stacks of candles of all different heights. A thick black carpet peppered by drops of a rainbow of colored wax had been rolled out the door. A few people at the front of the line were collecting the invitations. “This sure is fancy,” Ward said, leaning into Taytra so she would hear him over the babble of voices. “I know.
