Chapter 52 Taytra Taytra could hear people coming up the trail. Her sister had slowed to a walk, her feet scuffing over the uneven ground. “Come on, Shauna. We’ve got to go a bit faster,” Taytra said for the fifth time in as many minutes. Shauna mumbled a reply, her gaze unfocused and at her feet. Taytra had considered pulling her sister onto her back, but if anyone came up on them, she wouldn’t be able to fight and protect her sister that way. Barin was farther up the trail. His pace had slowed too, but he continued to fight on. They were moving up and out of the craigs when Taytra heard the sound of stones falling, smashing together with loud cracks.
