Chapter 9-2

On the edge of "New Birth Realm," Allen and his team prepare for a covert operation, intending to penetrate enemy lines and destroy the raiders' base. The stars twinkled in the sky, seemingly illuminating their mission. "We must be cautious," Allen told his team members, "This operation is not just about our safety, but the future of our entire community." Under Allen's command, the team members quietly left the community, traversing the dark wilderness, heading towards the raiders' base. Their steps were light and fast, with everyone maintaining a high level of alertness. After a night's march, they neared the raiders' base. From a distance, they could see several rudimentary buildings and hastily constructed defensive works. The guards seemed lax, but Allen knew the real danger of the raiders lay in their brutality and unpredictability. "We'll split into two groups," Allen arranged tactically, "one to sabotage their communication equipment, the other to blow up their ammunition depot." The team members swiftly moved into action, infiltrating the enemy camp according to the plan. They moved like shadows in the dark, avoiding the patrolling raiders. Max and his group successfully infiltrated the communication center, quickly and professionally disabling all communication devices. Meanwhile, Allen's group silently approached the ammunition depot. "Are we ready?" Allen whispered. "Everything's set," a team member replied, "just light this fuse, and the whole ammo depot will blow." Allen nodded and signaled the action. A flame leaped in the night, swiftly traveling along the fuse. At that moment, alarms sounded, plunging the entire camp into chaos. Allen and his group rapidly withdrew as the ammo depot exploded, lighting up the entire night sky. "Run!" Allen shouted, as his team members evacuated the site at top speed. On the way back to "New Birth Realm," the team members had mixed feelings. They had successfully completed their mission, but they knew this was just the beginning of the battle. The raiders would likely respond soon, and they had to prepare for more. When Allen and his team returned to the community at dawn, their operation was met with an enthusiastic welcome from the residents. Despite having successfully crippled one enemy stronghold, Allen knew the fight was far from over. "We've won this battle," Allen told the residents, "but the war continues. We must stand united to face the challenges ahead." In the following days, survivors from "New Birth Realm" and "Border Shadow" united even more closely. They jointly built defensive works, trained warriors, and prepared to face a potentially larger-scale attack. Then, Allen received an urgent message: "The raiders are gathering a large army, preparing for a full-scale attack on us." The community was engulfed in a tense atmosphere. Allen stood before everyone, his eyes filled with determination and belief: "No matter what kind of enemy we face, we will not back down. We will resist together, to protect our homes." Every member of the community was prepared, knowing this would be a fight for survival. Under Allen's leadership, they united, ready to face the ultimate battle that was approaching. Night fell again, and "New Birth Realm" was enveloped in a tense and serious atmosphere. Everyone knew that the battle the next day would determine their fate. But at such a moment, their hearts were filled more with determination and courage. Allen stood on the city wall, looking into the distance. He knew they were about to face a tough battle, but he believed that as long as there was hope, there was a possibility. They would fight for a better future, for the hope of all survivors. As the war drew near, Allen gathered the leaders of "New Birth Realm" and "Border Shadow," along with his core team, for a final strategic discussion. They sat around a long table, maps, and various documents spread out before them. Tension and determination intertwined in the air. "We know the raiders will show no mercy," Allen stated bluntly, "We must use all our wisdom and strength to counter them." Max pointed to a key location on the map, "Our scouts have found that the raiders' main force is gathering here. They are likely to launch an attack from this direction." Sophia added, "We have already set up defensive fortifications at these key points. Our archers and marksmen will occupy advantageous terrain there." "We can't just wait for their attack," Allen said firmly. "We must take the initiative, devise a detailed defense plan, and be ready to counter-attack." Max, a tactical expert, proposed a detailed defense plan: "We need to use the community's terrain to our advantage, setting traps and fortifications. Also, we can organize a rapid response team to counter-attack as soon as the enemy strikes." Elaine, in charge of medical and rescue work, said, "We need to prepare ample medical supplies and establish temporary first aid stations to ensure that the injured can receive timely treatment." Sophia also focused on the morale and support of the public: "We need to communicate clear information to the community residents, letting them know why we are fighting and our preparedness. This can enhance their confidence and unite their strength." In the midst of these tense preparations, Allen also had to deal with the relationship with "Border Shadow" survivors. Some of them chose to join the "New Birth Realm" to resist the raiders. Allen had a discussion with Mia, the former leader of "Border Shadow," hoping to better integrate the strengths of the two communities. Mia stated, "We are willing to fight alongside you. The raiders destroyed our homes, and we too wish to seek revenge." During the preparations, shocking news arrived: the raiders' vanguard was already approaching the border of "New Birth Realm." Allen immediately organized an emergency squad to go to the border for reconnaissance and preliminary resistance. At the border, they saw a raiders' force composed of rough armored vehicles and infantry slowly advancing. Allen ordered his team to hide, preparing for an ambush. As the raiders entered the ambush zone, Allen gave the command to attack. Suddenly, warriors from the "New Birth Realm" emerged from all directions, launching a fierce assault with gunfire, explosions, and shots ringing out instantaneously. Caught off guard, the raiders scrambled to counter-attack but were at a clear disadvantage after falling into the ambush. Utilizing the familiar terrain, Allen and his warriors inflicted significant losses on the enemy, forcing them to temporarily retreat. This gave the people of "New Birth Realm" hope that they could win the fight, but they also knew that a larger attack awaited them the next day. Under Allen's leadership, everyone regrouped, preparing for the battle at dawn. The night deepened, but no one could sleep. Warriors checked their weapons, medical personnel prepared treatment equipment, and everyone silently prepared for the upcoming battle. As the first light of dawn appeared, the warriors of "New Birth Realm" and "Border Shadow" stood on the frontline. Their eyes were determined, filled with unyielding fighting spirit. In the distance, the large army of raiders gradually became visible. Their force was vast and threatening, but in front of Allen and his warriors, no one retreated a step. "No matter what happens, we will not give up," Allen shouted to the warriors, his voice echoing in the morning air, "Fight for our freedom, for our homes!" The battle horns sounded, and both armies engaged. The raiders' offensive was fierce, but the warriors of "New Birth Realm" and "Border Shadow" bravely resisted. Arrows and crossbow bolts intertwined in the air, swords and axes swung on the battlefield. Allen commanded on the frontlines, his sword moving swiftly with each swing to protect his people. The battle grew increasingly intense, with everyone giving their all. In this life-and-death battle, every warrior was a hero. They fought with their flesh and blood to protect everything they cherished. And Allen, as their leader, led them to create a glimmer of light in those dark times. After a day's battle, Allen and others' desperate resistance made it difficult for the raiders to easily conquer "New Birth Realm," so the raiders decided to temporarily retreat to regroup, giving a brief respite. As the tension between "New Birth Realm" and "Border Shadow" escalated, the leaders of both sides decided to hold a meeting to explore the possibility of avoiding a full-scale conflict. This decision was made after considering multiple aspects, aiming to find a peaceful way to resolve the issue. Allen and his team knew that confronting the raiders might bring significant loss and sacrifice, so they hoped to understand the raiders' real intentions and motives through direct dialogue. They also wanted to convey a message to the raiders: even in this post-apocalyptic environment, there are different ways of survival; violence is not the only choice. For this meeting, Allen and Max carefully planned the details and security measures. They chose an abandoned factory as the meeting place, located at the border between "New Birth Realm" and "Border Shadow," a relatively neutral area. They sent messengers to invite the raiders' leader to the meeting through secure channels. The leader of the raiders, a man named Karl known for his cruelty and decisiveness, accepted the invitation to meet but also made it clear that he wouldn't easily change his plans and objectives. This made Allen and his team realize that the upcoming talks might be challenging and dangerous. On the day of the meeting, Allen and his team arrived at the meeting place early. They checked the surrounding environment to ensure there were no ambushes or dangers. Sophia and Elaine were responsible for providing medical support and emergency measures, in case of any unforeseen incidents. Karl arrived at the meeting place with his guards. The two sides met among the ruins of the abandoned factory, surrounded by silent witnesses. The atmosphere was tense, but both parties maintained a surface calm. Allen was the first to speak, "We are here today to find a way to avoid unnecessary conflict. We know you are powerful, but we have our beliefs and bottom lines." Karl responded with a cold laugh, "Your beliefs mean nothing to us. Our rule of survival is that the strong prevail, and the weak serve. Either you submit or you will be annihilated." Max clenched his fists, speaking firmly, "We will not submit, nor will we give up. We are willing to fight for our homes." Karl looked at Max with a challenging gaze in his eyes, "Then let the battle decide everything." Allen continued to try to persuade Karl, "Battle only brings more pain and loss. Is there a possibility that we can find a way to coexist and build a better future together?" Karl shook his head decisively, "In this world, only strength determines everything. Your idealism, in my view, is nothing but the fantasies of the weak." Sophia attempted to persuade Karl from another angle, "We are all survivors of this world, we have all experienced the hardships of the apocalypse. Why can't we unite to fight against the real enemies of this world - the factors that caused the apocalypse?" Karl's response was cold, "Unite? To sacrifice our interests for a fanciful common goal? No, I only trust in strength and victory." The talks reached a deadlock, with neither side showing signs of concession. Karl eventually stood up, his eyes filled with a desire for war, "Since negotiations have failed, let's decide everything through battle. We'll meet again soon, Allen." Allen and his team watched Karl's retreating figure, knowing that an unavoidable conflict was imminent. Although the talks had not resulted in a peace agreement, they at least gave them a clearer understanding of the other party's stance and intentions. They returned to the "New Birth Realm," preparing for the impending battle, filled with determination and courage. War had ravaged the "New Birth Realm" and its surrounding areas for some time, leaving deep scars. Allen and his team, in continuous battles, fought with all their might, defending the community and its residents. The sky, filled with black smoke, and the ruthless cruelty of battle left a profound impression on everyone's heart. After an intense battle, Allen stood atop a pile of rubble, looking into the distance. His eyes were filled with determination, but also an almost imperceptible weariness. He knew this war was not just for survival but for the future. "We can't give up," Allen said to his teammates, "No matter how hard the fight, we must persevere. This is not just for ourselves but for all those who depend on us." Just then, urgent news came – the raiders' main force was about to launch a comprehensive attack. Allen immediately gathered all available combat forces, including survivors from the "Border Shadows." They quickly set up defensive positions, ready for the impending final battle. As the sky grew darker, a heavy rain accompanied by thunder arrived. Allen and his warriors waited in the rain, the tense atmosphere straining everyone's nerves. Suddenly, the ground began to shake as the raiders' army surged forward like a flood. The battle swiftly unfolded, with both sides plunging into fierce combat. Allen led his team in bravely resisting the enemy's onslaught. Explosions, gunfire, and shouts intermingled, forming the main melody of the battlefield. At the most critical moment of the battle, an unknown aircraft descended from the sky, unlike any pre-apocalyptic flying machine, resembling a more high-tech product. These aircraft fired powerful energy weapons at the raiders, causing massive explosions that almost entirely destroyed the raiders' vanguard. Seizing this opportunity, Allen organized a counterattack. He led an elite squad deep into enemy lines, aiming directly at the raiders' command center. Along the way, they encountered fierce resistance but continued to advance resolutely. Eventually, Allen and his team broke through the enemy's last line of defense and stormed into the raiders' command center. There, they faced the raiders' leader – a brutal and merciless figure. "Your resistance is futile," taunted the raiders' leader. "We will never surrender," Allen replied, his voice full of determination, "For our homes, for the future, we will fight to the end." A breathtaking duel ensued between Allen and the raiders' leader. Each of their attacks was filled with power and fury. Finally, in a decisive move, Allen defeated the raiders' leader. With the fall of their leader, the raiders' morale completely collapsed. They began to flee in disarray, and the battle finally ended. Allen and his team stood on the battlefield, weary but with faces filled with the joy of victory. "We won," Allen murmured to himself, looking at the battered "New Birth Realm," his heart full of deep emotion. After the battle, the aircraft landed slowly in the "New Birth Realm's" territory. Allen and his team approached the aircraft, cautiously ready to face a possible new threat. The hatch of the aircraft opened, and to everyone's surprise, a familiar face emerged – it was a scientist who had disappeared before the apocalypse, Dr. Lisa Duval, a former colleague of Dr. Malo. Lisa looked much younger, as if time had left no trace on her. She smiled at Allen and said, "I'm back, Allen. I've brought the solution we need, and new hope." This sudden turn of events left Allen and his team astonished. They were eager to learn about Lisa's experiences and the "solution" she spoke of. At the same time, they knew that this battle might just be a beginning, and they still needed to face more unknown challenges and crises.
