“What time does the party start?”
“Two o’clock. By the way, that’s the fifth time you’ve asked.”
“I’m sorry. I just want to make sure we get there on time. You know it takes forever to get to Gary and Sabrina’s house now. It was so much easier when they lived next door.”
“Easier for whom?”
Eric’s question made me laugh. A year ago, Eric and I had met for the first time at Gary and Sabrina’s Memorial Day barbeque. Now, a year later, we were headed to the couple’s new home in Lake Forest for this year’s party. So much had happened over the past year. Eric and I dated, broke up, got back together, and moved in together. Gary and Sabrina sold their house in Evanston and moved to a huge new home in Lake Forest around the corner from Greg and his family.
