Part 17

Abel's POV

I had forgotten so many things and needed to catch up with the company's affairs, but with Anna's sudden disappearance, concentrating on work was something more of a miracle...

Searching for her had never been this difficult before. I had even gone as far as going through the airports in town. I had been to her work space countless times, but yet, nothing to show for it...

I was going to give that woman a good scolding once I found her. She had disappeared for more than a week now.

I was going to make sure she got punished for putting me into such stress. I had barely had a proper sleep, thanks to her. Only God knew where she was hiding...

I had gone through all her recent contacts and it was obvious the last calls she had received were from Kevin and Kelly. Could it be that Kevin had her kidn*pped? I raised a brow, feeling completely baffled...

I was still lost in my thoughts when I heard a gentle knock at my door. I hadn't gone to work today, not wanting anyone to disturb me and now here was someone at my door...

I didn't say a thing, hoping the person was just going to leave, but before I could realize, the door swung open revealing two familiar figures...

Clyde and Rose walked in, with Clyde smiling at me. I stared at the lady behind him, and he quickly explained...

"I asked her to come. She can help cook something for you"

I just rolled my eyes before saying...

"I've done that already"

The both of them stared at me surprised...

I simply ignored them. I had a lot in mind and food was the least of my problems...

I turned to look at Rose who sat next to Clyde, keeping her distance. That's when I noticed her bulged belly...

I became curious and couldn't help but ask...

"You're pregnant?"

She looked at me, smiled, without saying a word...

"Are you just noticing?" Clyde asked, a hint of surprise in his tone...

"I'm not her husband to keep every detail account of the slightest change in her, am I?" I asked Clyde feeling a bit annoyed...

Rose stared at me, a bit disappointed...

"So you brought a pregnant woman to cook for me?" I raised a brow, while Clyde smiled...

"I don't mind sir. Besides, the baby in my womb feels more at ease when I cook for y..." She abruptly stopped her sentence.

Of course, I got her point. It took everything in me not to mock her. I simply forced a smile that didn't quite reach the eyes. Seeing her expression, she felt slightly embarrassed...

"Maybe you should check the kitchen. I'm sure Abel will be hungry. He didn't make anything. Well, he normally wouldn't" Clyde said, making me to furrow my brows...

Rose stood, making her way to the kitchen. I sigh, wondering the kind of friend I had...

I wanted to say something when a message notification from my phone caught my attention...

Seeing that it was from the investigator, I quickly opened it, and there was a video, taken today itself, capturing Anna in it...

Anna's POV

I couldn't keep guessing if I was pregnant or not. It had already been more than a week, and with technology this advanced, it should be possible to detect wether or not I was pregnant right?

I hurried to the hospital, with David accompanying me as I had discussed it with them the previous day...

A sample of my urine was collected and the pregnancy test conducted...

Waiting for the results felt like I was waiting for a court verdict. My whole body was tensed...

David noticed and tried distracting with small talks, but non of it worked...

Before long, the doctor approached me smiling. He shook hands with David, saying...

"Congratulations! Your wife is pregnant!"

David stared at the doctor for a while before turning to look at me, not knowing wether or not to smile.

I felt like I had frozen in place. My mind went numb. I was carrying Kevin's child?

After what felt like eternity, I asked...

"Doctor, are you sure there isn't a mistake?"

I asked, but he shook his head. With that I forced a sweet bitter smile...

The doctor handed the results to us and we walked out of his office...

I stormed out of the hospital with David trying to catch up with my pace...

"Hey, Anna, don't be too fast" David screamed, struggling to meet up...

My mind was numb. I felt like the biggest loser on earth. If there was one thing I wanted at this point, it was to behead that bastard that had the nerves to force me on his bed...

I couldn't even explain how I felt. If I had another place to run away to, I'd have gladly ran away again...

I was lost in thoughts, when a van suddenly stopped infront of me. It's doors swung opened, revealing some mask men, two of which got a hold of me, covering my face with a tissue, forcing me into the van...

At that point, I regretted not waiting longer before leaving the house...

I heard David shouting my name...

"Anna!... Let her go!"

After a while, instead of his loud voice, I heard his painful screams, like he was being beaten up...

Before long, I couldn't hear anything else. I suddenly found myself engulfed in complete darkness...

Roy's POV

I just got out of the surgery room and swiftly made my way into my office. I picked up my phone from the table and met two missed calls from Dr. Rollins...

Without giving it much thought, I called and after a few rings the call connected...

"Hi Roy! It's been a while" came his voice...

"Yeah! How are you doing?" I asked...

"I'm alright. I wanted to ask, your sister, her name is Anna right?" Dr. Rollins asked...

I thought for a while before replying...

"Yeah, any issues?" I asked...

"Well, let me send you a picture" he said, and in that instant, a picture popped up into my phone. Sure enough, it was Anna...

"Yeah, she's the one. I have been looking for her. Where did you see her?" I raised a brow, anxious...

"Well, she came to my hospital today for a check up. I remembered you had mentioned that she was missing." Dr. Rollins explained...

"Okay. Is she still there?" I asked...

"Yeah!" Came his replied before adding...

"But she'll soon be leaving"

I thought for a while, before saying...

"Can you please assign someone to follow her? I'll be there in a couple of minutes"

"Alright" with Dr. Rollins response, I immediately dropped the call, picked up my car keys and walked out of the hospital...

Before long, I arrived at Peter's hospital. I walked straight to Dr. Rollins office and found him casually seated...

"Rollins..." I called out, smiling faintly at him...

"Roy, you're here" he said, smiling warmly at me...

I didn't want to beat about the bush, so I asked...

"Where's she?"

He pulled out his phone, copied a series of numbers on a piece of paper and handed it over to me...

Without a second thought I collected, and was staring at it, when he said...

"I had that person follow her. I told him you were going to get in contact with him"

I nodded, and said...

"Thank you very much"

I felt grateful to him for this gesture. Rollins and I had been classmates when I was still in school. Though we weren't that close, he knew Anna very well, because she was my only sibling, and sometimes came to find me in school when she closed early or had nothing doing at home...

I had anticipated that if she was really r***d, then she'll have gone to a hospital. I contacted all the nearby hospitals, asking them to go through their records should in case she had showed up, and also to be vigilant, should in case she later on shows up...

I was about walking away when I realized something...

"Rollins, what exactly did she come to do here?" I asked, curious...

Rollins smiled at me, before saying...

"Patients information is confidential and you know that. I've already done you a favor by having someone follow her. Any other thing, I think you should get it from her yourself. I hope you understand"

He explained...

Of course, being a doctor myself, I understood...

After thanking him, I stepped out of the hospital, got into my car, and was about calling the person who was following my sister...

I input the numbers and was about calling, but somehow, I felt a sudden urge to contact Abel...

After a short while, I decided to press the call button, convincing myself that I could call Abel later on...

The call connected, and before I could finish introducing myself, I heard the man say...

"The lady has been kidn*pped. I'm currently after the car"

At that point, it felt like every drop of blood had been drained off my body...

I ended the call, and next thing, the person who was following her, sent me his location...

I started the car, going after them. I just hope I wasn't going to be late. Why did someone want to kidnap my sister?

While driving, I called Abel who answered almost immediately...

"Roy, what's up?" He asked...

I didn't have time for greetings and got straight to the point...

"Anna has been kidn*pped"

"I know!" Came his cold and icy voice taking me aback...

"Do you have any idea of where she is or who might have taken her?" Abel asked snapping me out of my thoughts...

"I had someone follow her. I'll send you the location" with my response, the call came to an end...
