Anna's POV I returned from the grocery store, holding a bag full of different groceries... I walked into the vast living room, and was greated by the calmness of the place... I made my way to the kitchen and had the bag dropped there. Everywhere was quiet, that one could hear a pin falling to the floor... Abel must have gone to work, I thought... Knowing he wasn't around, this was a good opportunity for me to leave this place and go straight to Kevin. I had to appologize to him in person. I had sent him a series of text messages, but I knew I needed to see him in person... With that, I made my way to the guest room, where I picked up my purse and exited the house without turning back... I got to GK, and took the private elevator to the last floor of the building. Once I got there, I headed straight to his office... I wanted to knock on the door, but decided against it... I pushed open the door and made my way in, but it was completely quiet... No one dared stop me, as they knew my relationship with Kevin... He was the CEO of GK. Though his company wasn't that big, it was definitely outstanding. It was known to produce some of the best cosmetic products, using natural herbs. It's products had been proven to be very effective and suiting... I stared at the large room for a while, gently calling out Kevin's name, but got no response... Wasn't he in his office? I was about leaving, when my eyes caught sight if a picture on his table... Curious, I approached it, and behold, it was my picture... I had taken the picture 3 years ago. In the picture, I was wearing a black strapless beach wear, standing beside the see shore, with water slightly touching my feet. My hair was being swept away by the wind, giving me a charming look, making my smile seductive.... I can clearly remember Abel was with me on this day, and I was smiling at him, as I approached him. Back then, it was my birthday and he had made Kelly bring me to the beach. He had made me believe he didn't remember my birthday. I was standing by the sea shore, feeling down, when Kelly suddenly tapped my shoulders pointing in his direction. I was completely taken aback, seeing my man in shorts and short sleeved shirt, which wasn't buttoned, reaviling his great figure... I was so stunned at that time and couldn't help but smile... Thinking about it, Kevin and I hadn't known each other back then, so how was this picture with him? I raised a brow... Before long, my eyes caught sight of an envelope which carried the name of a hospital, which I very well knew... "St Clare's hospital..." I read, the words ringing a bell... Wasn't it the same hospital I had gone to two months before my breakup? I became curious as my hands reached the envelope, wanting to unveil the content. Before I could get my grip on it, the door swung open, and there came the man I had been looking for... He stared a me for a while his brows slightly furrowed, before instantly beaming with a smile... "Ann, you here?" He said, approaching me, his eyes lazily glancing at the table... "Yeah" I said, smiling slightly before turning my attention to the picture on the table... Noticing my restlessness, he immediately explained... I was busy browsing when I saw this picture of yours online, so I had it printed so I could stare at it whenever you're not around... He said, his tone low, calm and warm... Somehow, I felt a warmth spread across my heart. At this point, I couldn't help but feel guilty... "Kevin, I'm sorry about yesterday. I never expected things to turn out like that. It's my fault" I appologized, but he simply smiled saying... "No need. I understand. It's just a matter of few months. I can wait till then" his words made me feel even much guilty. I wanted to speak up again when he said.. "I don't want Abel picking up a fight with you and making things much difficult. Let me drive you home. You seem kind of stressed. I think you need some rest" I wanted to object, but thinking about it, I really needed some alone time. Moreover I could chat with Kevin during the ride. So I just nodded and we both stepped out... Before long, his car came to halt infront of a simple apartment... He stepped out of the car opening the passengers sit for me. I smiled warmly, and stepped out, making my way to the front door... There was a gift box there, with a bouquet of white roses, and a note... I stared at it, turning to look at the man besides me, who simply shook his head clearly indicating he hadn't sent anything... Curious, I picked up the bouquet, pulled out the note and red it out loud... "Meet me a Princess hotel, private suit 32, 10pm... Abel❤️" I was stunned for a while. I turned to look at Kevin who wore a sly smile... "I trust you. Just go. Moreover if you don't, he'll suspect you're with me. You don't want your man taking another punch do you?" He raised a brow... I didn't say anything, just consumed by guilt. I smiled slightly, walking into the house after picking up the bouquet and gift box. ***** "You should get set and leave now. It's almost time. I'm sure you wouldn't want to keep her waiting" Clyde said, staring at his friend, whom he knew wasn't really in a good mood... They had been standing upstairs, leaning next to the staircase, at an angle where one couldn't really notice... They had been chatting happily, not until they heard the door open. They both remained silent and watched as Anna walked inside the house carrying a bag of groceries... She had barely glanced around the house and noticed there wasn't anyone so she dropped the bag and retired out of the house... Clyde wanted to follow her, wondering where she was off to. He was clear aware of the fact that she was on leave today, so where was she headed to? Though he didn't follow her directly, he had asked someone to keep an eye on her... Not too long, he was called and informed she was at GK... With that news, it took everything in Abel not to go there. He felt like he could explode from anger... He was still fuming when a delivery man came to deliver a gift box. It contained a wrist watch and a card... Upon seeing the sender, his feelings became complex. He felt like mocking himself loud... Wasn't Anna going to see her so called colleague whom in reality happened to be the CEO of GK? So how could she suddenly invite him over for dinner at princess hotel? Abel sigh helplessly, before standing up... "I'll get dressed" he said and retired to his bedroom... Yes he wanted to go, beside he really wanted to confront her in person... Before long, he wore an elegant white sophisticated suit. He very well knew that Anna loved seeing him in white suit, so he wanted to look good for her... "You look great" Clyde commented, before staring at his watch... "It's already 8:45. Do you think you'll be able to make it on time?" "There isn't much traffic" Abel answered, as he picked up his car keys... "Let's go then" Clyde said and they both headed out together, with Clyde retiring to his place... Abel arrived the hotel at exactly 3 minutes past 9... He stared at the hotel for a while, remembering his fitst meeting with Anna... Back then, he came here for a business meeting in a private suit, where Anna was the one attending to them... Just thinking about how graceful she appeared at that time made him smile. He got out of the car, and made his way into the hotel. He searched around until he stopped at the private room 32 which was on the last floor of the building. Without any second thought, he pushed the door opened... He was stunned for a moment upon seeing the person in the room, before quickly regaining his composure... "What are you doing here?" He asked coldly... The woman in a red gown who had been beaming a while ago though she had misheard... "I was waiting for you" she said with a smile... "For me?" Abel asked as if mocking her... "Mah, where you really waiting for me?" He asked again, walking fully into the room, without closing the door behind him... Rose stared at him, confused... "You asked me to come didn't you?" She said wearing a confused expression... "No! I didn't" Abel said as he turned to leave immediately but Rose firmly grabbed his hand in urgency... "Have you really forgotten about me? I'm I really worth nothing?" Rose asked, her eyes red... "What are you talking about?' Abel asked puzzled... It was just the second day, and Rose couldn't take it. She was determined to tell him they were married and expecting a child. She didn't like the way he was being overly protective of Anna... "Can we please talk?" She asked, her voice low and desperate... Abel stared at her for a while slowly nodding, as he sat opposite her... She opened the bottle of wine before them and poured out some into two glasses, pushing one glass towards him... He didn't reject it. He took a sip of the wine before carefully placing it on the table... "So...?" "Abel, I'm sorry for what I'm about to say, but I hope you understand my helplessness. I'm just a woman, looking out for her family's well being..." She started, smiling warmly at him... "There was a time you were facing a huge finicial crisis, and it was taking a toll on you. You were so stressed that you were gradually turning into a shadow of yourself..." She continued as Abel silently listened... "Well, at that time, the one you loved and cherished the most actually a..." She didn't get to finish what she was saying when someone suddenly appeared infront of the door... Abel turned to see Anna in a strapless blue gown, that fitted her perfectly. Her hair was tied to a ponytail, and she was holding her purse... She wore an expression of shock and anger... Rose smiled warmly at her, before turning her attention to Abel who was staring at the lady... Abel stood to approach the lady, but before he could take a step he felt a warm slap accross his face, making his head spin...
