Part 15

Anna's POV

My mind was in a complete mess...

I didn't know what to do or how to react. I gathered the little strength in me and pulled myself out of the bed, using the blanket to cover my body...

I patroled the room, searching for the signs of another person, but, there was no one. At this, my heart was in a turmoil...

I picked up my phone which was on the single table in the room and saw several missed calls from Abel...

I switched off my phone, walking towards the door, and noticed it was opened. I locked it with the key from inside, before sitting on the floor, crying out my eyes...

In my pool of tears, I began to recollect everything that had happened...

The last thing I could remember was that after the drink, I felt a sudden heat arise from my body. Kevin approached and started planting kisses on me. After that, nothing else came to my mind....

"Argh!" I screamed, my heart aching the more. How could Kevin do this to me?

How could I ever face the world? Deep within me, I felt utterly guilty, like a wife who had cheated on her husband.

I certainly couldn't go home like this, neither could I return to Abel's house. So what was I going to do?...

I got into the bathroom, took a good shower before returning into the room, that's when I noticed a set of well folded female clothes. I didn't even have time to check if it was my size or not.

I wore the clothes, without even thinking about who kept them there. Anyways, it could only be one person...

I picked up my phone and purse before storming out of the room, with no particular destination in mind...

Abel had patiently waited for Anna to return his calls, or better still, show up this morning, but she didn't...

He could barely concentrate on anything he was doing. He couldn't keep his cool any longer and hired a private investigator to find out about her where abouts...

It was past lunch time and he hadn't eaten anything, only wondering where Anna had disappeared to...

He was lost in his thoughts when he heard a gentle knock at his door. His brows furrowed, his gaze darkening...

"Come in!" He ordered in a cold voice...

Rose stepped in wearing a warm smile, holding a lunch box in hand...

"Sir, I noticed you haven't had lunch, so I decided to bring this for you. You need to eat something" she said...

Abel scoffed lightly, before saying...

"Why did you take the trouble?" Abel asked his tone mocking...

"Well, I was just looking out for you" Rose said, her smile still on...

"Okay! Thank you. Drop it" he said, his tone as cold as ice...

Rose felt a bit hurt, but felt a surge of happiness. The fact that he accepted her food was enough reason for her to be happy. With that thought in mind, she dropped the food on his table before saying...

"I'm leaving"

Abel nodded and watched the lady exiting his office...

His mind was filled with thoughts of Anna's whereabouts, and here was Rose trying to make him eat. Did he even have the appetite?

Meanwhile, Kevin sat in his vast office, bubbling with anger...

The only thing he badly wanted was to see Abel on his knees...

"Are you alright?"

Jay asked his friend senseing the tension around him...

Kevin didn't respond.

"I think you should take a break. You never loved Anna in the first place. You'll certainly have another opportunity to get back at him. You should just focus on work" Jay advised...

After a while, Abel finally asked...

"Had she left already?"

Jay very well knew he was asking about Anna...

Of course, Kevin had clearly explained the details of the incident the previous day. Jay couldn't help but feel sorry for his friend. He had lowered himself just to get a woman whose heart belonged to another man...

"Yeah! She's left. She probably should be home. Do you want to go see her?" Jay raised a brow...

"No!" Kevin replied bluntly...

Even if he wanted to, he couldn't help but keep his distance. His presence could cause more harm than good...

Roy's POV

It had been four days now, and there was still no news of my sister. No one knew where Anna had suddenly disappeared to.

Initially, I thought she was hiding at Kevin's place, probably trying to mend her relationship. But after Kevin's visit to the hospital today, I couldn't help but worry. Where on earth was my sister?

I stared at Abel who had lost weight in just a few days, his face pale. He was as worried as I was...

I was at his place. I made my way here, after he called me, urging me to come immediately...

He kept staring at the CCTV footage that was infront of him, showing Anna leaving the private suit of a bar in a hurry...

Once she out of the building, she had walked on foot, and so there was no camera which captured her taking a cab or whatsoever, making it more difficult looking for her...

"Damn!" Abel screamed, slaming his hand hard on the table, almost breaking it...

"Don't you have any idea if where she might be? Relatives, friends...?" Abel asked...

Anna wasn't someone who frequently visited others. If she wasn't running some errands, then she'll be at work. If she were to go anywhere else after that, then she'll always tell me...

"I don't know" I shook my head...

But, what was my sister doing in a bar in the first place? Wasn't the bar Kevin's? Could it be that she had come up with a plan to walk away from Abel's life, making it easier for Rose to win over her husband again?

Thinking about that, her sudden disappearance made sense. She probably switched off her phone, to avoid Abel tracking her. But why didn't she tell me?

"She'll come around" I said my tone convincing, though I wasn't completely sure...

"I'll keep sear..." Abel ended his sentence midway, holding his head as he began screaming in pain...

"Argh!"

I knew it was probably due to the excess stress. I made my way to his room, got him his medications...

"You're glowing. It's been a while I saw you like this and your belly had begun bulging out" Laura said, pointing out the changes she was noticing in her friend...

"Yeah! I'm glowing because Anna isn't here. She's been missing for four good days, and somehow, I feel good about it" Rose said, giggling from within...

Ever since she had learnt that Anna had disappeared, she couldn't help but pray that Anna never came back...

After their confrontation a few days ago, she couldn't help but sigh inwardly. Yes, she wasnted her husband to get well, but it was obvious Anna had her own plans...

"Are you the one saying this or someone else?" Laura raised a brow, surprised by her friend's words...

"Laura, I'm human. Besides it's obvious Anna has ulterior motives, and I can't take that risk. Besides, I've been making food for Abel lately. I mean, despite the fact that we're away, I can still play my wifey role"

Rose said, her smile broadening...

"Why don't you just take advantage of her disappearance and tell him the truth?" Laura suggested...

Rose's brows furrowed, remembering how Abel had developed a sudden headache, after hearing Anna's harsh words...

"What's wrong?" Laura asked seeing her friend's expression...

"Nothing. I tried that once but it didn't go well. By the way, where do you think Anna could be and why will she just disappear like that?" Rose asked...

"If you ask me, I'll say she's just trying to get everyone's attention. If not, why do you think she'll run away just like that?" Laura said, before adding...

"Or maybe something bad has happened to her" Laura guessed, before continuing...

"What if she has been kidn*pped? Or involved in an accident? Or even killed?"

"Laura!" Rose called out in a raised tone, her brows furrowed as if warning her friend...

"Do you really have to say all of that?" Rise asked, obviously displeased...

"Well, it's not like it's not possible"

Laura defended.

Thinking about it, it was a possibility after all...

It was about 8 pm when Kevin walked into his simple luxurious apartment. He had a good mastery of the building and didn't bother switching on the lights and was walking towards the stairs when the lights suddenly flickered, turning on...

He was taken aback for a moment before turning to see a woman whom he had less expected. What was she doing here?

"You?"

"You probably didn't expect seeing me here right? How did I get in? Aren't you going to ask me that?

"Well, I can deal with that later. But what are you doing here? Coming in like a thief?"

"Kevin, you're so evil. How could you do this to someone you claimed to love? I feel so down right now. You're so the most despicable man I have ever seen. You're nothing but a bloody wretch!"

"Hey! Are you..." Kevin ended his statement midway, as the lady approached him enraged...

Her eyes were red and bloodshot. She stared at the man, before delivering him delivering him three consecutive slaps, taking him completely unaware...
