Part 13

Abel's POV I woke up thanks to my alarm, feeling a slight headache... I heard some noise from downstairs but didn't dwell much on it, knowing I was the only person at home... I had plans of starting work today itself... I took a good shower, wore a grey suit, put on my golden wrist watch. I picked up my phone and car keys, making my way out of my room... Just as the door to my room swung opened, the aroma of food filled the air. Even if I wasn't hungry, right now, I felt like I could swallow up a good quantity of food... But who was making food? I asked myself... With the thought in mind, I made my way down the stairs, heading straight to the kitchen where I heard some noise... I carefully opened the kitchen door, which revealed the prettiest woman I had ever come across. Though her face wasn't visible, I couldn't mistake her. I could recognize her even with my eyes closed. For a moment I was surprised seeing her... "Anna, you?" I asked in a calm tone, ensuring she wasn't startled... "Oh! You're done" she said, turning to face me, smiling warmly at me before adding... "I made breakfast. Why don't you just have a sit and let me serve you..." She said, still wearing a smile.. Was I dreaming? Ever since I regained consciousness from that accident, I had literally been the one forcing her to come around. Did the sun rise from the west today? "When did you come and why didn't you wake me up?" I raised a brow... "Because you were resting and I know it is best you rest properly. Your health first" She said, taking me aback... After the heated confrontation with Kevin and his mom, Anna had avoided me, not wanting to catch a glimpse of me. So why the sudden change of attitude? "Are you planning something?" I asked the lady who was adjusting the flames under the pot... She glanced briefly at me, wearing a brief smile, before saying... "You're so smart" with that she turned to me, wrapping her hands around my neck, her smile still on... "Truth is, I want us to talk. But since you're living for the office, we'll talk later, okay?" "You know I can give you all the attention on earth, right?" "Let's talk later. Besides, I'll have to go to work as well and I'm running late" she explained... "How about I give you a ride home, you change and I drop you off?" I raised a brow, but she quickly shook her head... "I came prepared. You need someone around right, so I'll be staying here for about two weeks..." Was I really dreaming or I heard her right. Two weeks? This was amazing... "That's good!" I nodded, a broad smile spread accross my face... "Then go get ready. I'll handle this, so we can have breakfast and leave together" She stared at me for a while before slowly nodding... "Okay!" With that said, she walked out of the kitchen... ***** Rose's POV I stared at myself once more in the mirror, a satisfied smile spread accrossed my lips. I wore a simple blue knee-length gown, that fitted me perfectly, clearly showing my slightly bulged belly... I was more than two months gone, and my stomach had begun growing. I gently caressed my belly, fantasizing what my baby was going to look like.... Was it going to be a girl or a boy? Who was my baby going to resemble? Was it me or Abel? Just the thought of having my baby in my arms in some few months, made my heart lighter. I felt like a five year old kid, giggling... But then a though crossed my mind... Abel still couldn't remember me. After seeing his overly protective demeanor I couldn't help but feel hurt. I had wanted to spill the truth, but after he had that severe headache, I decided against it... Now that I was thinking about Abel's condition, I remembered Anna had called me, begging me to speak with Kevin's mother and make her understand everything. But what had I done? While exchanging words with Kevin's mother, and after seeing how much everyone was fund of her, I decided to reveal her truth to Corine. Corine's anger flared and she had said a couple of things including the fact that she was never going to allow Anna marry her son... I sigh, feeling helpless, but then I had to keep my thoughts to myself, making sure not to spill any of the things I said that day to anyone... I picked my bag, and dashed out of the house... I arrived at Royals and walked straight to my former desk. I had to work as the secretary of the head of the marketing department, since that was the post I occupied before... I sat there, and quickly picked up a stack of documents that contained all the details of the company's recent happenings... I was flipping through the pages when a shadow suddenly loomed over me. I raised my head, and behold, there stood a lady whom I least expected... ***** At G.K, Kevin sat in his office, his gaze dark, filled with unsettled emotions. Opposite him, sat his best friend Jay, who just kept glancing at him, feeling sorry... "What will you do now?" Jay raised a brow... "I didn't come this far to let Anna go. I succeeded in separating them once, and I'll still succeed again" Kevin stated, though he hadn't any specific plan in mind... "Didn't you say she loves you? How about talking to her. I mean, let her understand that your mother is really mad and she'll need some time to cool down and understand everything" Jay proposed... "All this is thanks to that Abel. As long as I'm alive, I'll make sure he never is happy. Though he got married to Rose, I very well know he's still in love with Anna. Despite having amnesia, he can only think of Anna, like she's hypnotized him" "We both know you tempered with those test results, right? Else they probably would have been married with a kid" Jay said... Thinking about it, it had been almost two years now, when he did that. That day, Anna wasn't feeling too well and had gone to the hospital. He had gone there to see Jay who had been sick at that time. When he was about leaving, he spotted Anna walking into St Clare's hospital.... Upon seeing her, he immediately knew who she was and decided to follow her, when an idea struck his head... After finding out she came for a checkup, he bribed the doctor into making her believe she was barren... Anna couldn't believe it and had the test done repeatedly, but the results were the same. She was barren... He very well knew this news was going to break her. He had studied her and everything involving her and knew the kind of person she was... Abel was an orphan, and he very well knew that Anna wasn't a heartless somebody and was definitely going to leave. He just needed to make something up, which will give her a good excuse to go... He kept someone to watch over her, and reports proved that her performance at work had dropped significantly, her look always gloomy, and it seemed it began affecting Abel as well... With Abel's distraction, he seeized that opportunity to attack his business, making him go down, providing a good reason for Anna to break up with him, and sure enough, it worked out perfectly well... Just the thought of that made him smile... "Why are you smiling?" Jay raised a brow... "I seperated them once right, I'll still do it again. Besides, Anna won't be that foolish falling for a married woman..." "As the saying goes, the heart wants what it wants..." Jay said... Kevin was about responding, when someone pushed opened the door to his office... Oh! There came the most dangerous doctor he had ever known... "Roy" Kevin and Jay called out in unison, glancing lazily at him... Roy's expression was blank, unable to make out what he was thinking... He stared at the two men who seemed to have been engrossed in a serious conversation... He nodded slightly at them before raising a brow... "All good?" The other two simply nodded... "You don't look good" Kevin said, his gaze fixed on the man who walk passed them, settling into the single sofa in the room... He let out a heavy sigh, before saying... "My girlfriend is pregnant. She wants to have an abortion" Roy's words took the other two aback... Jay and Kevin exchanged glances before Jay spoke up... "Haven't you two been together for two years? Why would she want to abort?" "She said she wants to focus on her career, that she's not willing to be a mother. Moreover, she doesn't want her friends laughing at her that she's pregnant out of wedlock" It took everything for Jay no to laugh... "Wedlock?" Jay raised a brow... "Just go ahead and propose to her. Once she knows you want to marry her, she would keep her career aside. I'm telling you, this gender becomes desperate, especially when pregnancy is involved" Jay said, with Roy listening intently... Meanwhile, Kevin who was quietly listening had a sly smile on, as a plan began forming in his mind...
