LIFE IS FULL OF SURPRISES

Chapter 4

Monalisa woke up and saw that she was lying on a bed decorated with white sheets covered with a warm and soft blanket, when she raised her head and looked to her right side she saw AD sitting on a chair beside the bed where she was lying and by that time Monalisa felt like it was a dream.

She then woke up sitting on the bed looking at AD's face, "AD.....Is it really you?", she said touching AD's face showing his displeasure, "Yes it's me....are you okay now?", AD said looking at Monalisa seeing that Monalisa could not understand what had happened and he just got up and brought a cup of tea and handed it to he so that she could drink as it was early in the morning. Monalisa then accepted the cup and started drinking slowly,"I was in the street and other men attacked me last night it was a dream or not?", she said looking at AD,"No... it's not a dream that's what exactly happened", AD answered her shortly like always and kept quiet.

"They did not r**e me,I'm still alive...thank you my Lord,so how did you took me here AD.. .. like how did you get there,is it because of you?", she asked, wanting to understand how it was that how she ended up in AD's hands, but AD avoided the question with another question, "What happened to your house, your father said what?"at this time Monalisa looked down and held a cup of tea with both hands...later,she raised her face looking at AD and replied,"He fired me out of the house....I should go and find somewhere to stay".AD kept quiet for some seconds before he said anything to her showing that he was gathering and merging his plans, "This is the place", AD answered him and got up from the chair he was sitting on and walked out leaving Monalisa sitting on the bed but Monalisa remained looking like she was a little bit uncomfortable.

When Lilian finished preparing breakfast, she carried the food and put it on the table and went to call her mother to come and eat, "Breakfast is ready Mom".

"I'm fine....I don't want to eat", Madam Layzer answered her daughter in a low and calm voice like always and this was also the speech and behavior of her child AD who had took after his mom her mother.Lilian didn't know what was bothering her mother so she asked, "Mom.....are you okay... are you not feeling well?", she asked showing that she was very concerned about her mother's attitude that day and her mother immediately raised her face to startle her, "I said I'm okay...take the dinner and leave the room now...I'm busy Lilian", she said in a panicked voice, so Lilian didn't want to continue arguing since she was someone who was afraid of her mother, she took her food back to the kitchen and sat outside quietly, so she lost even her appetite to eat the food.

Jayden's words kept ringing in Madam Layzer's head *"Calm down my lady. the most important person in your life is the one who knows much and more about you....I knows more about you and my father you two made a deal to keep your secret safe but now I knows everything.. if you don't want to give me the money ...I will deliver this information to the one who is looking for it",* these words kept repeating in her mind and she was showing deep concern and sadness on her face so that she no longer wanted anyone close to her with other stores, _"So what can I do?",_ this was in her heart and she quietly opened her wallet and took out her bank card and slipped it on the coffee table then she called her daughter Lilian, and Lilian ran to where her mother had called her and sat next to her mother, "I'm here mom," she said in a humble voice and looked at her mother, "I know you're her...do you think I'm a blind woman ?"

"No mom..Im sorry",she answered softly lowered herself towards her mother,"Take this Bank Card to the bank now and make a money transfer of $20,000 USD to this account number", she said while handing her a piece of paper with the account number written on it. Lilian stopped and looked at her mother looking surprised, "Mom.... what is the reason for such a big transaction of a money like this?", her mother didn't answer her and she just looked at her with that calming eye, her daughter didn't want to continue talking more and just took the Bank Card from the exit and got into the taxi which was going to town.She went to town and did as her mother had told her to do and then she returned home. These days Lilian was not happy at her mother's house and she missed her mother's son brother AD.

Not long after, Madam Layzer heard her phone ringing and it was Jayden who was calling.. she answered, "Hello".

"I just received the money like now my lady...how are you?",

"So what's next?", Madam Layzer said and calmed her voice while the phone was on her ear, "And your secret will be safe my lady", Jayden said as he sat on his office chair and turned around playing with the chair Madam Layzer then hung up.

After Jayden's home call,she called his father, Pardon Sound, who was her friend, telling him where to meet as there was something they wanted to discuss. Mr Pardon Sound didn't want to waste time, so he went on the road with his two bodyguards and he went to the restaurant where he was going to meet Madam Layzer.When they arrived, Madam Layzer was already there Mr Pardon came and sat on a chair while the bodyguards remained standing.

"Madan Layzer....a very good time keeper....how is your family", Mr Pardon said as he sat down on a chair, but Madam Layzer did not spend time greeting each other and went into her story at once, "Your son Jayden finds out the secret between you and I....how?",Mr Pardon at this time calmed his face showing surprise at what Madam Layzer had said,"What do you mean Madam???you mean Jayden...Jayden Sound???".he asked.

"The one you know...he intimidated me to give him $20,000USD because of you...how did he finds out, are you now betraying Madam Layzer?", Madam Layzer said showing that she was serious about the matter. The old man looked desperate and surprised at the same time, "Madam....I'm really sorry about that I will sort everything and I will pay you back your money and the deal will be safe under my control", Mr Pardon said, showing an apology to Madam Layzer, because of what had happened, Madam Layzer immediately took out a piece of paper and a pen and wrote down her account number and quietly handed it to Mr Pardon, then she picked up her car keys and leave him sitting with his bodyguards.

The sun was about to set and Monalisa spent the whole day locked herself in the bedroom where AD had left her, afraid and ashamed to go out, then she heard a knock on the door of the house and she went to open it and saw AD standing at the door, "Monalisa....are you fine?".he said

"Yeah....I'm fine what about you?", she said showing a little lack of confidence, and AD looked at her face,"Monalisa.... you're hungry...can you please come and have a dinner with me?" , Monalisa immediately leaned down and licked her lips, showing embarrassment.

She started to walk behind AD and then they entered the dining room where there was a table that was well decorated while it was very beautiful."Take a sit", AD said while showing Monalisa a chair to sit and then he prepared a dinner of different types of food and he then came to the table carrying two plates with baked eggs, chicken, spaghetti and potato salad smelling good and attractive.He placed another plate in front of Monalisa then he took two water glasses and poured juice while he was sitting on another chair, "Enjoy your meal", said AD

"Thank you", Monalisa then started to eat slowly but she admitted to herself that,this food was delicious more others she used to eat in hotels, "Are you the one who cooked?", she asked, "Yes I am".he shortly answered here like always.

"You're perfect", she said with a smile and looked at him and AD kept quiet while eating.. When he finished eating, he removed his plate from the table and took it to the sink and he looked at his watch,"I'm going out, I will be back soon," he said while he was walking out of the room , Monalisa then called him, "AD...!", AD stopped walking and turned to look at Monalisa

"I'm sorry for asking you...but are you leaving me here ..alone?"Monalisa said feeling relieved to be alone at home,"I will be back soon...you're safe here,no one will touch you", when he finished speaking, he went out to walk but Monalisa remained uncomfortable about this.
