Chapter Three (Trysis)

1436 Words
For the last ten years, this had been the secret hideout of TRYSIS - the most notorious mafia in the United States. They like to call it the HQ. Trysis started as a group meant to correct certain ills in society, but its reason for operation changed. In the last five years, every political murder, governmental fraud, and crime related to exploiting the government had Trysis sitting at the helm of it. Al Albert founded the group. He was a kid from a wealthy background. Al dropped out of college and he joined a notorious gang on the east coast. Thereafter, he met Raymond Ademola on the streets of California, whose parents were wealthy politicians back in Nigeria. He was sent to the United States to study. But the sharp edge of misfortune gored him when his parents were assassinated. Their murder was associated with a clash between his father and a political opponent. More so, greedy family members had taken over his father's properties, leaving nothing for him to fall back on. Raymond could not make it back to Nigeria, and he also had to drop out of school. At that devastating moment, his heart was seeking revenge. Revenge against every politician who was associated with his parent's death and against every politician whose aim is to exploit and steal from the masses. That became his orientation. Albert Al came through. He found Raymond, and like glue, they bonded, since Al's violent lifestyle was all that Raymond needed to vent his rage on his enemies. Dera found her way into his life, a couple of months after he met Albert Al. Chidera Martins is a daughter of a renowned businessman in Nigeria. TRYSIS was founded, and Raymond became the second in command. He was the bravest, smart, and intelligent, and of course - the man behind the trigger. They named him '002' Ria joined the gang thereafter. She was the girl with the good looks, but as a member of Trysis, she's a handy instrument - used for targets who'll do anything to feel their d***s thrusting in an alluring blonde. Ria grew up in Detroit. Being a white girl in a black-dominated society was hell, plus how her father began to sexually abuse her at twelve. She ran away from home five years later. Al met her when she graduated college. Tyler was a bit different. He had everything while growing up as a kid. He's a smart kid that wanted to go beyond his father's luxurious penthouse. He got addicted to computers at a tender age. He graduated with a degree in cyber-security. Years later, he met Al. He became the tech guy in Trysis. He is the face behind every cybercrime that had Trysis sitting at the helm of it in the last couple of years. ***** Lilting sounds of keyboards, LCD lights illuminating the still darkness, and the beeps of computers filled the spacious room. Several pictures - hung on the wall, each clinging to a board with a sticky note attached to them. Guns and large amounts of hard drugs were placed on the table too. Raymond ambled into the spacious room like he had been chased by a ghost. Tyler turned his gaze off the computer to trace the steps. Ria stood by a table at the other end of the room reading a map. "Tyler I got your text. What's going on?" Raymond said. He stood behind Tyler - hand folded across his chest. Tyler rolled his chair over to meet Raymond's blank stare. "We have a mission, 002," Tyler said. He leaned his back on the seat lazily, hovering his hand to the side of his face. "And it's too complicated for your dumb ass?" A strange feminine voice echoed. Raymond and Tyler traced the voice to Ria's lips. She evaded the desk, walking towards Tyler and Raymond. Tyler's face shrunk into a frown at her offensive interruption. "Hey," she muttered, as she walked past Raymond with a remote in her hand. "Go straight to the point, asshole" she snarled, staring into Tyler's eyes. Tyler clicked his tongue "You should learn some manners b***h. You disrespect me a lot, I will......" "You'll do nothing, weakling" Ria retorted. She stood in front of Tyler - like she'd press a jab on his long face. Raymond stared at them - uttering no word. Tyler gritted his teeth in rage, his heart pulsing loudly. "You two, enough of that bullshit" Al yelled. He walked into the room, he'd been listening to the verbal altercation. "Oh, Ray. You're here.....we've got a situation" he gulped down the bottle of whisky in his hand. He adjusted his cowboy hat, caressing his bushy beard. He moved to a spot in the room. His favorite spot. "Tyler" Al called. "One of these days I'd prove to you that I'm a man. I'll cut off that asylum you call a mouth" Tyler mumbled with gritted teeth, as he snuggled back into his seat. Ria replied with a glare. "So what's the situation guys?" Raymond muttered. He sat on a seat close to where Ria stood. Albert cleared his throat. "You saw the news huh?.... That motherfucker will be burning in hell now. Good Job dawg" A satisfactory chuckle curled on his lips and he continued "I called you here because of the most interesting part of that news broadcast...I'm sure you know that" Albert growled and another chuckle flew off his lips again. That has been his guilty pleasure. Laughter. Demonic and sinister laughter. Raymond stared at him for a few seconds before saying a word. "That fund was allocated by President Al..... it is impossible to lay a finger on it....besides, it is for a reasonable project" Al let out a loud giggle. "Spare me that president bullshit Ray" "002" Ria called. Raymond turned his face to her, as Al's sinister laughter made him confused and uncomfortable. Ria pressed a button on the remote in her hand and the monitor lit up - displaying the shackles and remains of a village - struck by a hurricane. "Two weeks ago, there was a hurricane in a small town in Texas called Briarcliff. A lot of its inhabitants lost their homes and properties. Some of em lost their lives. The secretary for Housing and Urban development saw the situation as an avenue to fuel his greedy ambition" Ria added. It felt like she started making a bowl of oatmeal and stopped right when it was time to add milk. And at that point, Raymond's heart blared with questions. "What greedy ambition are you talking about?" Raymond asked. "John Marvin... JM is what he likes to be called alerted the president about the situation" Tyler said. He continued immediately after Raymond turned to him. Like he just got his attention "The president agreed to rescue the situation. That's why a whooping 20 twenty billion dollars was allocated to JM's office in other to help the affected people in Briarcliff.....but" "That motherfucker cannot be trusted" Al interrupted. He grabbed a blunt and lit it up. He stepped toward the trio, whizzing out smoke "My source found out he has a plan. Right now as we speak John Marvin is out of the country" Al said. Raymond rolled his eyes. "Why?" "He was given six months by the president to focus on the project" Ria replied. "....but he diverted the money into his personal account and now, he's on his way to Nairobi on his private island. Ready to squander the money" "He'd show up six months later with photo-shopped pictures of Briarcliff, declaring that the project had been completed," Tyler said. Raymond hurled a sigh. He paused for a moment, processing all the information he just heard. It all solidified his reason for being a part of Trysis. Politicians aren't meant to be trusted. They're all greedy potbellied assholes. "So how do we bring this sucker to book?" Raymond asked, directing the question to no one. "That's my dawg," Al said. "We dug out some info and we found out JM is heading to Nairobi, the capital city of an African country called Kenya. We need to get him before that money vanishes into thin air. I can afford to lose a bottle of vodka, but I'd kill a thousand people if I lose a dollar bill" He whizzed out smoke again. "002, you must stop this bastard" added. "Considering the number of people who'll be subjected to pain, something has to be done ASAP" Ria muttered. "Your flight has been booked, Ray. You're going to Nairobi" Al said.
