Chen's phone rang at 2 AM. She put it on speaker.
“This is Commander Walsh. Coast Guard. We have a fragment situation on a cargo ship. Fifty miles off Virginia. The crew is attacking each other.”
“What kind of fragment?” Julian asked.
“We don't know. The ship went dark. We sent a team. They stopped responding.”
“How many people on board?”
“Twenty crew. Four rescue team. All trapped.”
Maya held up her Seeker. “I feel it. The fragment makes people violent. Anyone who gets near wants to kill.”
“A rage fragment,” Julian said. “We need to contain it before the ship reaches port.”
“It's already drifting toward Norfolk,” Walsh said. “Six hours.”
