“The fragment is jumping between hosts,” Dr. Ellis said. “Every time someone touches the host, the fragment moves to the new person.”
“What does the fragment do?” Julian asked.
“It's the Surgeon. I created it to help doctors perform precise operations. The fragment guides the host's hands. Makes them steady. But it also makes them cut. Anything. Anyone.”
“Where is it now?”
Maya pointed at the map. “Seattle. A hospital. The fragment is moving through the operating rooms.”
