Maya's Seeker blinked red at 7 AM. “School in Albuquerque. A teacher forgot how to read.”
“One teacher?” Julian asked.
“The whole school. Students forgot how to add. Teachers forgot how to teach. The principal forgot how to open her office door.”
Dr. Ellis pulled up her records. “That's the Unlearner. I created it to help people unlearn bad habits. Instead, it erases all learned skills. Walking. Talking. Eating with a fork.”
“How long does it take?”
“The fragment works fast. Within a day, the host forgets everything. Within a week, they forget how to breathe.”
Julian grabbed his cane. “We go now.”
