The first missile hit the silo at 5 AM.
Concrete cracked. Lights flickered. Dust fell from the ceiling.
“They found us,” Chen shouted.
“How?” Dara grabbed her blade.
Kira listened. “Jets. Two of them. They fired from the air.”
Julian ran to the command center. “Where did they come from?”
“NORAD,” Chen said. “General Cross sent them.”
A second missile hit. The silo shook. Bunks tipped over. People screamed.
Leo grabbed his rifle. “We need to shoot back.”
“We don't have anti-air,” Julian said.
“Then we go to them.”
Julian looked at the map. “NORAD is two hours from here. We hit them before they hit us again.”
