I had been so caught up in my hunger at the most mouthwatering scent, that I failed to notice what was happening around me, until all the guards were down on the floor and the Queen was baring her neck. The King was glaring my way, right before the King and all the guards left without as much as a word, leaving me alone with the Queen. My jaw fell open so far I am sure I’m going to catch some flies if I keep it open like this. I close it shut before croaking out “Y.. Your highness?”. The Queen offers me a sincere smile before replying “you can call me Xena when it’s just the two of us dear. I told the King and guards to leave us so we could speak in private.
