In the dungeon

Gabriel walked down into the dungeon with a grim look on his face. The smell of dust, rust, blood and rotten flesh lingered in the suffocating air like it usually did. He saw Jake waiting by the entrance. "Alpha" Jake said to him. "Another one of the rogues have been captured. He was found roaming in our territory, moving about with the humans in one of the villages Roxanna is investigating. The guards had him delivered today. She believes this one is special. " Jake said as they walked into the dungeon passing by different cells containing people who had gotten on the king's bad side or were a threat to the safety of civilians in Vredorn. The king glanced at Jake " Why do you think he's special? " " He was found wearing the symbol of royalty of the vampires. The sapphire ring. Even though he had gone rogue he still hasn't lost all consciousness but we can smell the corruption . There is a probability that he stole the ring but I think thats highly unlikely" " Was he the only one she captured? " Gabriel asked. " I don't think so. I believe Roxana killed the rest of them. You know how much she hates them" Jake stated plainly. The walked deeper into the dungeon and reached a darker hallway with little to no light. If one would say the dungeon was dark this inner chamber within the dungeon was darker. The smell of blood and bodies got stronger as they neared the guarded room. The moment the walked in the prisoner who was held by silver chains nailed into the wall looked up, his red eyes were filled with mockery " Your majesty. You came to see me? Am I that much of an important guest that his highness himself came to meet me? " He said with mockery and laughed wryly. The slight shake of his hands caused the silver to burn even harder. He didn't seem affected by it though. It seemed he could bear the burn. This was the kind Gabriel liked to break. " What were you doing in my territory you leech. Roaming about to have fun or maybe a death wish? The king said c*****g his head to the side with a dangerous smile on his face. " Does it matter what I was doing. You should stop worrying about little problems like vampires like myself and start to worry about what may be coming your way." He said while keeping an evil smile on his lips. Was he even rogue? He still hadn't lost his rationality yet. He was probably the result of a failed transformation. This wasn't the first time the vampires were tresspassing .They did this occasionally and it was one of the major reasons why he hated these leeches. They had marked territories for a reason. Gabriel hated the fact that he had to deal with the mess they made in the villages. They killed people and made it look like the werewolves did it. Humans were shallow minded and would believe it as that would be the easiest thing to do at this point. He was king, true but a good portion of Vredorn hadn't accepted his government yet. They talk behind his back and adored him before him but he was king for a reason. He knew. He always knew. He walked closer to the Vampire to see if there was anything special about him. " How did you get the Royal jewellery of the vampires? " He asked looking at the half rogue. He stilled had some consciousness, Surprising but these creatures were evolving, he shouldn't be shocked. " Maybe I found it lying around where anyone least expected. " He said confidently with a smug look. " A villager who was once a human like yourself shouldn't be in possession of a ring as such. Each royalty has a ring of their own. Which means you stole from someone didn't you? " The Vampire looked into his eyes and said " So? What if I stole it? It's not stealing if it was made to be mine in the first place. I took back what was supposed to be mine" " What is your name? " Gabriel asked the vampire. " It doesn't matter. You'll kill me soon anyway. " " Answer my questions vampire and I will make your death an easy one" The king said. " Albert" He said through gritted teeth and looked away. "Will you kill me now? " "No" Gabriel said firmly. " Keep an eye on him and have Iris check if she can slow down his corruption. I need to know something. He is special as Roxanna had predicted. We need him alive for now. " The king said without glancing back at Albert who hung on the wall. "Yes Alpha" Jake said with a bow. " Stay put Albert. " He said as they left the dungeon. They headed straight for the courtroom as Jake filled Gabriel in on the multiple murder cases that had risen in vredorn. Most of which were of different races. They got to the courtroom and the cases were being brought up. It was going to be a long day but Jake was here so he didn't have to worry much. After the cases of the unfortunate occurrences In the village were all brought up. A minister, Matthew Saunders spoke. " Your majesty, the matter of your mate rejecting has become a matter of utmost concern to the council and to the kingdom. You are the king, you can always choose a wife to mate with. And I'm sure we all are aware of the fact a lot of maidens would be ready and honored to bear a child for the throne." He said a knowingly with a silent plea. They had been trying to convince the king to leave the foolish human but he didn't pay heed to them. The girl was stupid to deny the privilege of being a person the king cared for. Many died to be concubines of the king but they knew she was his mate and the lycans in the room understood the bond he had with her. " We will have an heir when we are ready. And like you said, I am the king so you dont need to worry about the throne. I will bear that burden " The ministers looked unconvinced but kept mute. They didn't want to offend the king. who would want to? That was like digging a pit beneath one's legs. He could end their lives with just a few words from his mouth. The court got dismissed, Gabriel sat looking straight ahead with an unfathomable expression on his face. Jake being the king's beta, stayed back. "Something bothers you my lord" Jake said, stating the obvious. Off course he was bothered. His territory was being invaded by other creatures and Alice was becoming a mystery he couldn't rap his head around. she was becoming unpredictable. Just a few hours he spent with her after she woke up from a coma changed a whole lot for him. False hope was something he didnt want to hold on to but he couldn't resist. His wolf was becoming more ... Alive, he could feel it. He felt the surge of energy within him which he felt after laying eyes on Alice. But after she treated him coldly in the part, the stream of energy froze within him it felt like his wolf was broken. But she was warming up to him and that was good news. Great news in fact. Speaking ofAlice, He wondered what she was up to at this moment. He wanted to go back and see her. It was almost Evening and he almost felt like running to her room and holding her close. He had said he would be back at sunset and it was almost sunset so why not now. " Alpha?" Jacob called again when he didn't get a reply from his alpha who seemed distant and in deep thought. Lost in his thoughts, He had totally forgotten that Jacob was here. "Indeed I am bothered Jake. The vampires and witches have been causing trouble in our territory. Isn't that something to be worried about? " He asked Jake with an ' obviously 'look on his face. " Indeed it is your highness but I feel you're more worried about something else than you are of the troubles the witches and vampires are causing. Or maybe I am wrong" Gabriel didn't reply this but his face softened so Jake guessed he was right. And he was sure that something else was lady Alice. It was normal for him to be attached to his mate. She was a piece of him after all. The worrisome part was that she was human and didn't feel the mate pull. This was what most Lycans and werewolves feared. A mate who didn't feel what they felt, the way they felt. It was sad but he had no idea that Alice had had a change of heart
