"How much I hate the guts of this kid," Jennifer muttered bitterly under her breath, her eyes still fixed on Adrian with a strange, unsettling smile. Trying once again to act affectionate, she stepped closer and pouted softly. "You're hurting your mother's feelings," she said sadly as she attempted to hold Adrian's arm. But Adrian instinctively stepped backward immediately, avoiding her touch completely. "You are not my mother," he snapped angrily. "And I am not your son. What part of that don't you understand?" Jennifer's expression stiffened in embarrassment as several nurses nearby glanced toward them. "Adrian—" she began again desperately. "Jenny, stop it." Annabel's calm but cold voice instantly cut through the tension. "She is not your mother," Annabel reminded Adrian gently as she pulled him closer protectively and stroked his hair softly. Adrian immediately relaxed beside her. Jennifer clenched her fists tightly before slowly returning to her seat, humiliation and anger boiling inside her chest. The atmosphere became unbearably tense afterward. Then suddenly— The doctor finally stepped out of the laboratory with a file held firmly in his hands. Everyone instantly stood up. All eyes fell on him. Jones straightened confidently, already convinced victory belonged to him. "Well, Doctor?" he asked smugly. "Tell us the results." The doctor adjusted his glasses briefly before speaking professionally. "Mr. Jones…" The confidence on Jones' face remained untouched. "Unfortunately," the doctor continued, "you are not Adrian's biological father." Silence. Complete silence. The smile on Jones' face vanished instantly. The doctor continued calmly. "Annabel Dutchman is Adrian's biological mother." Jennifer's face turned pale. "And Isabella," the doctor added, "is the biological daughter of Jones and Jennifer." The triumphant smile instantly disappeared from Jennifer's face. Without another word, the doctor turned and walked away, leaving behind absolute chaos. Jones stood frozen in complete disbelief. "No…" he whispered weakly. "That's impossible." Jennifer staggered backward in shock. Meanwhile, Adrian slowly looked up at Annabel with watery eyes. "You're really my mom…" he whispered emotionally. Annabel smiled softly and held his face gently. "I always was." "What?!" Jones exploded in disbelief. "What do you mean I'm not Adrian's father?!" In a fit of panic, he grabbed the doctor few meters away by the arm and shook him violently. "How is Adrian Annabel's son instead of Jennifer's?" he shouted frantically. "I swapped them myself!" The words escaped before he could stop himself. Silence instantly filled the hallway. Jones froze. Realization hit him too late. The doctor slowly pulled away from his grip while several nurses stared at Jones in shock. Jennifer's eyes widened in horror. "You i***t…" she whispered under her breath. Annabel, however, remained perfectly calm. A slow, victorious smile appeared on her lips. "You really thought you were smart, didn't you?" she asked coldly. Meanwhile, Jennifer looked completely shattered. "How is Isabella my daughter?" she cried emotionally. "I was told I gave birth to a boy!" Adrian stuck out his tongue mockingly. "I told you already," he said confidently to Jennifer. "You could never be my mother." Then he turned toward Isabella. "She is your real mother," Adrian said gently while pointing at Jennifer. Isabella looked completely confused and overwhelmed, tears filling her eyes. "Mommy…" she whispered shakily. Annabel finally stepped forward, her heels clicking sharply against the hospital floor. "You honestly thought I wouldn't find out?" she asked Jones calmly. "My own husband conspiring with his mistress to steal the wealth my father spent his entire life building?" Her voice became colder with every word. "And on top of that," she continued, "you expected me to raise a child that wasn't mine for twelve years?" Jones stared at her speechlessly. Annabel smirked faintly. "It seems you forgot who I am," she said proudly. "I am Annabel Dutchman." Her eyes darkened dangerously. "And no one outsmarts me. Not in this life… and certainly not in the next." Then, without hesitation, she pulled the divorce papers from her handbag and threw them directly at Jones' chest. "Sign it." The papers scattered slightly as they hit him. Nearby, Adrian stared at his mother with pure admiration shining in his eyes. Jones clenched the papers tightly, fury burning across his face. "So you knew all along?" he hissed. "You pretended to be stupid just to fool me?" Annabel laughed coldly. "You cheated on me," Jones snapped angrily. "And because of you, I ended up raising another man's child!" "Speak for yourself," Annabel fired back immediately. Her voice cut through him like a blade. "Why exactly are you angry?" she demanded. "I should be the furious one here." She added as she stepped closer, staring directly into his eyes. "And I promise you this," she continued coldly, "I will sue you for every single thing you own." Her words hit Jones harder than any slap ever could. Humiliated, exposed, and defeated, Jones lowered his head slowly. Then finally— He signed the divorce papers in shame. The entire hospital hallway had fallen into complete silence. Everyone stared at Jones with nothing but disgust and mockery in their eyes. Some whispered among themselves while others openly recorded the scandal on their phones. Even a few paparazzi reporters who had somehow gotten wind of the situation captured every humiliating moment on camera. Jones could barely lift his head. For the first time in years, he looked completely defeated. Ashamed, exposed, and broken. Beside him, Jennifer stood frozen in shock while Isabella lowered her head quietly, too confused and overwhelmed to even know what to say anymore. Meanwhile, Annabel calmly picked up the signed divorce papers and glanced through them briefly. A satisfied smile slowly spread across her face. Finally. It was over. Without another glance at Jones, she folded the papers neatly and slipped them back into her handbag. "I'll contact my lawyer tonight," she announced coldly before turning away. Then she reached for Adrian's hand. "Let's go." Adrian immediately held onto her tightly as they walked away together. The moment they stepped outside the hospital building, Adrian suddenly stopped walking and looked up at her with shining eyes. "You know," he said proudly, "you make being your son look so easy." Annabel blinked in surprise before laughing softly. Adrian grinned brightly. "You're my hero, Mom,And I love you so much"
