It was almost dark when we reached the mansion. Benny fell asleep in Dan's lap while I was dozing on and off. Since it's nearly night, Luke decided to go to the police station in the morning. I can't confront Sam and Becky today. I need to rest and think of something to say to them.
Luke parked the car and went out to open the passenger's door so that Dan can come out carrying Benny. Then he went around to open my door and held his hand for me. As soon as I came out of the vehicle, Luke took me in his arms, bridal style.
I gasped and looked at him, surprised. He smiled and kissed my forehead, which made me swoon and sigh. I laid my head on his chest and wrapped my arms around his neck. We entered our bedroom, and Luke laid me slowly in our bed.
