In the realm of immortality there are certain rules to be obeyed. If broken then certainly we will get punished and as long as I can remember there was one time when I and my friend broke one certain rule.
But the punishment we got was much more exhilarating than it should've been.
"A life as a mortal"

Chapter 1
Breaking The Rules
---------------------------------------------------
"Life is such a feeble thing," I stretched out my wings while sitting near the enchanted fountain. Dipping my hands in the crystal clear water as it glowed with every single touch.
"You are only saying that because you have forgotten what's it's like to live freely." My best friend Aria came to me with a bouquet of luminous flowers. She sat beside me and looked at me.
"So, what's the plan." she grinned.
"Do I really look like I need a plan to break rules?" I chuckled at my own answer. It was so obvious yet still she hoped for a plan.
"Your wings look more excited than you do though." she pointed over my overstretched feathers.
"Ahh these beauties? Naah they are just itching to be off my back." I said casually.
"You know it's going to cost you a lot....right?" she asked as if to confirm.
"Don't give me that, I know very well that it's f*******n and we don't know what calamity will befall me...."
I picked a flower and held it in air, "but aren't you bored of this never ending, never changing so called life of ours?"
"Yes but it's peaceful, don't you think?"
"Locked up in this place, not being able to have fun once in a while, always abiding by the time and regulations....? Definitely not my thing."
"You are just bored aren't you, Celeste."
"Point made." I shrugged and smiled at her.
"So, exactly what are you going to do?" she set the flowers in the pond one by one while listening to me.
I smirked proudly, "I am going to meet the devil..."
Aria's eyes wide opened and she looked dead serious.
"Are you joking! That's absurd and insane thing to do!"
"Whyyyy I'm just going to say hello to the dark side." I rolled my eyes.
"Sacred book, rule number seven, 'do not succumb to evil or the darkness will befall upon you' says the rule book."
Aria crossed her arms and awaited an answer. Her wings now falling to the sides showing the urge to slap me.
"I know very well what the rules are!" I pretended to know.
She raised an eyebrow and sighed, "This rule is not like the others which you can break easily and then NOT get a serious punishment."
"Come-on what can be worse than having to be banished into the chaotic woods for a month?" I said as I recalled the creepiest memory in that forest.
"I can't believe it, You have already broken two rules and now you want to get into trouble again!?" she started.
"Oh here we go again.. " I said and sat down for a long scold and whining.
"You are such a hopeless trouble maker I don't even know how you are still immortal."
"Yaa I know, my bad luck." I half heartedly replied.
"See, that attitude of yours is why the council is always angry with you."
"I knowww it's so fun seeing them get flustered over such small things."
"And no matter how much I stop you, you are going to do it anyway." in frustration she gave up.
"What... That's it? You're done? I was expecting more though." I laughed.
"You are getting your self a huge punishment this time miss, and I am not going to help you." she pouted.
I chuckled at her worried expression and said, "don't worry, like I said what's the worse that can happen?"
-------------------------------------------
My name is Celeste and I am an immortal being, just existing. In this temporary but long realm where a soul is given another chance to do good deeds after their death.
Normally, according to the deeds a person has committed in his or her life. Either they go to hell, heaven or reincarnated into the human world again.
But this is the place where souls resides.
I knew something was wrong with me, I had no memories like all others. But I would get these strange thoughts that this isn't the place where I belong.
It was no use trying to stop me and Aria knew about that.
I don't know what came over me but surely,
I would like more to my eternal life than just sitting around and have a small chat with people who aren't interested in something other than themselves.
We aren't angels, we aren't demons. We don't eat, we don't get the urge to sleep. We are almost never even caring about anything.
Anything at all, and that is far more frustrating than having to live on forever.
