Chapter Forty Eight Emory's POV An hour passed but I was still twenty minutes away from the restaurant, my plan of being fashionably late was working so far. My phone pinged and it was a message from Gilbert telling me he was already at the restaurant and he was waiting for me. I smiled at my phone and sent him a reply. " I'm on my way. I'll be with you soon, make sure to stay put" I added a winking emoji for good measure but as soon as I clicked the send button, my head returned to normal. "What the heck, Emory?" I thought in my head, mentally scolding myself for being all mushy about Gilbert once again. I was still in my head when I saw a sign at the end of the street that said, “Oxygen Grand Parlor,” in bright blue letters. I finally saw an empty space to park and I did so before running a quick text to Gilbert. The restaurant was a small, outdoor resort with plywood segmented rooms and sections, not much bigger than a studio with pale yellow, spray-painted wallpapers and a wooden bar that was with high bar stool and a corner where all sorts of sea foods were being grilled. I've never been here before, though but reviews had it that this was the right place to be. Like with any eatery, the allure was in the gimmick and the image. Blue backlights lit the chrome sign above the door. Matching blue lights hung above the front windows, and a strobe light flashed on the sidewalk. Immediately after I stepped into the entrance of the resort, a delicious smell of food hit my nostrils, and immediately my mouth started to water and maybe down south too as I thought for a mini second what Gilbert would look like and what it would feel to kiss him after eating such savory food. The interior of the resort was darkly lit and the corner where we were to sit was darker. I saw a silhouette of Gilbert before I went closer and saw him in his full form, his back to me. My breath hitched in my throat and I began to wonder if this was a good idea. I was literally half naked with half of my bosom showing out of my dress and I was alone with Gilbert. He was busy on his phone and didn't see me until I cleared my throat loud enough for him to hear and got his attention. He snapped his head up from his phone to the source of the sound and saw me. I noticed him taking in my appearance and he gulped which was evident on bobbing Adam's apple. Internet satisfaction rocked through all my body when I saw the effect I had on him. I looked at the spot between his legs to have full confirmation of my effect on him and true to my anticipation, I saw a growing third leg between his legs. He stood up and pulled out my chair for me. I took my seat as expected, offering him a small smile "Soooo, hey Emory. You invited me for dinner" he said and I nodded. "Of course. We are friends aren't we?" "Really, are we now?" "Of course…. Why not?" I replied sexily, sipping water from the half-filled glass in my front while making eye contact with him. He gulped again loudly, with his eyes fixed on my exposed bosom. Smiling, I motioned a waiter over to us. I made sure they left only one waiter and cook on duty for me because I didn't want the restaurant to be crowded. Minutes later, the waiter came back with what we ordered and served us then left with a bow while I smiled at Gilbert. We ate in silence but I knew Gilbert kept on stealing glances at me in between. I knew he was confused about why I called him over for dinner and I was going to let him swim in suspense for a while before I finally told him the reason for this dinner. Several times while we ate, our fingers brushed and again, as we both reached for the wine bottle. I looked at him squarely in the eyes and I felt a cold shiver run down my spine. Eventually, I broke the stare and tried to focus on the wine, emptying glass after glasses and even though I knew I was drinking too much and that I'd gone too far to want to stop. By the time we were done eating, we had finished drinking a whole bottle for moèt. However, I couldn't help but order another one. "Isn't it too much for you Emory?" Gilbert asked me but I shook my head "No, it isn't. I can hold my wine well, thank you" I said smiling at the waiter in gratitude when he came with the second bottle of wine and cleared the dishes from the table. "I hope you enjoyed the dinner" I finally said to Gilbert and he smiled before nodding. He looked a bit uncomfortable and I liked that I made him feel that way "The food was really nice. The restaurant is nice, too. It is top notch and in fact, I've never been here before" he replied and gave me a thumbs up. I smiled and leaned forward, my hands folded across the table, my countenance turning serious. "Alpha Gilbert of the blood moon pack, I know you remember me and I know you are shocked to discover who I truly am." His irises dilated for a flicker of a second but he soon masked his face. "Rayne.." he said but cut him short "Emory…. My name is Emory" I said, retracting from being so close to him but suddenly Gilbert grabbed my hand and pulled me in. Goosebumps erupted all over my skin but I did well to hide his effect on me "Let me go, Gilbert, " I said sternly but his grip only tightened before he pulled me to him and kissed me. I tried to push him off but he was too strong and purposeful and soon I was kissing him back. He leaned forward and cupped my face with his wide, rough palm and angled my neck to get better access to my neck. The kiss was blowing out of proportion until I suddenly regained my senses and broke away from the kiss in shock "This was a mistake" I hissed at him before rushing out of the restaurant, not glancing back once. My heart was racing. I feared it was going to jump out. "Hey… Rayne… Emory " he yelled after me but I didn't stop. I shouldn't have kissed him back and I deeply regret it as much as I also enjoyed it. What the f**k Emory?
