Karina felt her heart shatter into pieces. Leo defended Sania right in front of her eyes. Sania's words were like a knife stabbing her in the chest, making her feel suffocated and in pain. She lowered her head, and the tears she had been holding back finally spilled down her cheeks.
'Jealous? Yes, I am jealous! What's wrong with being jealous?' she screamed internally. She felt so stupid for agreeing to Leo's request to come to this event. She should have known that she would never be equal to Leo.
"I... I need to go to the bathroom," Karina said in a trembling voice. She didn't wait for Leo's response and immediately walked away. She walked quickly, avoiding all the stares that seemed to judge her.
Leo didn't pay any attention to Karina; he went back to chatting happily with Sania. They laughed, as if Karina had never been there.
"Why did you come?" Sania asked, her voice sounding more serious.
Leo turned, not understanding what Sania meant. "Why?"
Sania stared at Leo meaningfully. "Why did you come to this event? You know I don't want you here."
Leo laughed. "Sania, don't be dramatic. It's just a small event. What's the problem?"
Sania shook her head. "No, Leo. This isn't just a small event. This is an important event. My father invited all the major investors. And... you know, don't you? My father doesn't like you."
Leo fell silent. He looked at Sania, realizing something was wrong. "What's going on?"
Sania sighed. "My father knows you've been lying. He knows that K&G Company isn't yours. He knows that you are the child of the person who destroyed his company."
Leo's face turned pale. He stared at Sania with wide eyes, unable to believe what he was hearing. "What... what do you mean?"
"My father knows, Leo. He knows. And he will destroy you. He will destroy K&G Company, he will destroy your life," Sania whispered, her voice trembling. "I... I warned you. But you never wanted to listen."
Leo was speechless. He felt as if all the blood in his body had drained out. He felt so stupid for believing that he could succeed without hard work. He also felt so stupid for lying to Karina, the person who truly loved him.
In another corner, Karina returned. She saw Leo talking to Sania with a very pale face. She saw Sania looking at Leo with an unreadable expression.
'What's happening? Why does Leo look so sad?' Karina thought.
She decided to approach Leo and ask. However, as she got closer, she heard Sania say something that made her heart pound.
"Leo, I know you don't love Karina. I know you're just using her. I will help you. I will make you successful. But, you have to leave Karina. You have to marry me."
Karina stopped. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Leo didn't love her? Leo was just using her? Her tears fell again. Her heart shattered into pieces. She could no longer bear the pain. She turned and ran away, leaving the hotel building with tears streaming down her face. She didn't care about her disheveled appearance. She just wanted to get as far away from this place as possible.
Karina's chest felt tight. She walked away and stepped outside for a moment to get some fresh air.
Remembering Sania's words, which so urgently pressured Leo to leave his girlfriend just like that, she thought, 'Truly, if the event is going to be like this, I'd rather not have come and refused Leo's invitation.'
"I just want to go home." Karina's hand reached for her dress; she realized her dress had no pockets. She just remembered that she hadn't brought her wallet or even her phone.
She slapped her own forehead. "Oh my God! I forgot!" As far as Karina could remember, she had only ridden in Leo's car; only that man had brought her to this hotel building.
She let out a long sigh. If this was the case, there was no other choice except to ask Leo to take her home.
Her phone buzzed—a message notification from Lea, her friend. When Karina opened the message containing the photo, how shocked she was to see Leo kissing Sania. Those hands, which once gave warm caresses, were now touching another woman's shoulder.

[Your boyfriend is kissing another girl. I've been watching them, they're so lovey-dovey, even though you're Leo's girlfriend. How could he be so heartless?]
Tears streamed down Karina's cheeks. Her whole body trembled; she wiped her tears. No! She must not cry! If she showed her sadness, they would just be happy to see her heartbreak.

Searching for Leo's whereabouts, Karina walked back and forth, her eyes scanning her surroundings. Until she found Leo sitting with Sania, chatting, looking familiar and happy, even occasionally exchanging jokes and laughter. And that made Karina's heart feel hot again, burning with jealousy.
With hurried steps, Karina approached them. Two people of the opposite s*x who didn't know their boundaries had succeeded in tearing her heart apart.
Karina cleared her throat loudly. "Leo, take me home," Karina said coldly, without any emotion. She seemed calm as she spoke, but her heart still ached. She was curious about Leo's answer after Sania had given him the toughest choice.
Sensing Karina's presence, Leo turned and looked at Karina with a sneer. He stood up from the sofa. "What's wrong with you? The event has barely started, and you're already asking to go home," he growled angrily.
Seeing the interaction between Leo and Karina, Sania smiled. "We'd better just enjoy this event. You know? Leo even managed to make a new business contact here."
"See? You heard that, right?" Leo's finger pointed at Sania. He agreed with what Sania had said.
'What business contact? A contact or a new replacement? Tsk, you brainless man!' Karina screamed in her heart. Letting herself be trapped among the VIP guests while being ignored by Leo who was busy getting close to Sania? Karina was still sane!
Karina shook her head. "I can't. I'm going home," she insisted firmly. She was sick of seeing Sania's proud, mocking smile as if belittling her.
"Oh my, Karina. Just say that you can't socialize with all the guests here. Oh, I forgot that you don't own a company," Sania then chuckled softly, covering her mouth to muffle her slightly loud laughter, as if mocking the fate of Karina's life, which was far below Leo's.
Karina's hands clenched tightly. She wanted nothing more than to slap Sania's trashy mouth for daring to insult her.
"Come on, Leo," unable to tolerate Sania any longer, Karina grabbed Leo's hand and walked away from there.

"You're acting like a child! That pointless anger of yours was seen by all the guests!" Leo snapped, gripping his car steering wheel tightly. He even accelerated the car.
Not daring to look at Leo, Karina just stared blankly straight at the road. She didn't respond at all as Leo yelled at her. His words didn't hurt her heart.
Realizing Karina's silence, Leo snorted in annoyance.
"Karina! Did you even hear what I just said?" His voice rose sharply, startling Karina.
Taking a deep breath, Karina spoke. "I want us to break up."
