“Hey sweetie, I just wanted to check in and see if you’re coming to the celebration tonight? You don’t have to, but everyone is excited to see you, so I hope you will”, Dad said, poking his head around my bedroom door.   “I’m just getting myself ready now, Dad. I’ll be down in a minute or two”, I chuckled, waving my hand, for him to leave.   I’d spent most of the day in my room, thinking over everything that had happened, from before I left, to now.
