I woke up and found myself somewhere unfamiliar. The first thought that crossed my mind was that I might be dead. But when I heard people talking and felt myself emerging from some sort of device, I realized I was alive and apparently in a hospital.
"Hi, there. I'm Dr. Martin." I saw a man standing beside me, and a wave of fear washes over me. "You're safe. You're going to be okay," he said gently, and I looked at him.
"Can I leave?" I asked, my voice shaky. He shakes his head.
"I see you're hurt. You'll need to stay here for a while," he explained, and I nodded in agreement.
"Okay," was all I manage to say.
"I need you to stay still," he instructed, and I complied.
