CHAPTER 7
ALPHA LINCOLN'S POV
For the first time I felt something, I felt an emotion. On a normal basis, it is very hard for me to show how I feel but at this moment while those kids and their mother whimpered, the sadness clouded the room. I could not help but feel sorry for the pain I had caused them.
And so when they were about to leave, I stopped them, "Wait!."
The lady stopped with her kids and turned around, but she did not utter a word.
I took a long breath, "I apologize for my words which may have brought you pain", I said it, I apologized and I do hope they feel better.
I was not surprised by the shock in her eyes, both the kids and everyone in the room, "My sister, Victoria. I believe you have already met her. She will take you guys home. I apologize once again, just the kids should be careful, there are dangerous people in this world", I advised her as she nodded and I could see a small smile creeping up her kids faces.
I chose to ignore it cause nope nope, I am not about to like some kids.
"Thank you Alpha, we will take our leave now", The lady said.
"Before you leave, what is your name?", I could not help my curious self but ask, "I am Alpha Lincoln Vincintore. I suppose you already know that and it would be fair if I know yours".
She looked at me for some seconds and smiled softly, "Montana", she said, "My name is Montana Romano".
And with that said, they left.
"Montana Romano", I repeated the name as it rolled off my tongue in a sweet way, "Montana, which means, Lupus Montem (Mountain Wolf), invoking the strength or should I say having the strength of the mountains and the wild spirit of a wolf. unique".
"I agree... unique indeed", Obviously it was Sean who had breached into my time where I was talking to myself and interfered and also added his thoughts even when he was not invited. I just chuckled.
"Her name refers to her as The Wolf of the Mountain or a Mountain Wolf but does she have what it takes to honor such a name or does she have what it takes to prove that she deserves such a name", I said again, thinking out loud.
"Well you would have to find out then", Sean whispered in my ears and I quickly pushed him away.
"Man you are everywhere", I laughed.
"Everywhere you need me", he said back while I shook my head.
MONTANA'S POV
We got into the car, the kids were in the back and I and Victoria in the front.
"Brother? Really?!."
"Don't be upset with me, please. I just felt like if you had found out if my brother is, you might be scared to be friends with me or something", Victoria explained sincerely, I could see it in her eyes when she looked at me and came in for a hug.
"But why would you even think that?", I asked her while making sure the kids were buckled properly.
"I am sure you have heard of my brother and you have no idea how many people are terrified of him, including myself. I know when to stay in my lane", she chuckled, "Although he can be sweet you will have to be very special to unlock that part".
I nodded, "I see".
The drive home was comfy and smooth and although I forgave Alpha Lincoln when he apologized as much as I was shocked that he did, still I could not help but feel sad about what he said.
I know my children are fatherless but the fact that I do not know who the father was or who that stranger was, just made everything worse. And I have not even told them that I do not know who their father was, it just kept me thinking all through the ride.
"Don't reason it too much sis", Victoria patted my arm and I reached out for her hand and smiled.
She sure does know me.
We got home and she offered to stay a little longer and help me out with things, soon enough she left and it was now me and my kids.
Hours flew by and time for bed, I made sure they were secured in their room and asleep before I left for mine. They were going so fast but they are still my babies.
I picked up my laptop, sat on my bed, with some snacks, and did some work and when I was done I got ready for bed. In no time as my head touched the pillow, I was gone.
The next time I opened my eyes, I found myself in an unusual place with an unusual sensation. Where I was my surroundings were morphed and I was standing at the base of a colossal mountain range.
I felt the cool mountain air against my skin. Looking around, I noticed that the mountains were majestic, their peaks piercing the sky.
The air tingled around my body. I was still in my night dress and I wondered how I got here. My senses were equally alive and it was as if the mountains themselves were trying to communicate or were communicating with me.
I could feel myself being drawn to my surroundings, I could feel a call that resonated within my very being, a call so deep in me. A call to the mountains themselves.
I was confused, questions swirled up in my mind as I took tentative steps towards the ascent of the mountain, not able to resist that urge. And with each step I took up the mountain, I felt different.
I took more steps getting closer to the summit, closer and closer. The call! I could feel it, something in me was opening up but another thing was holding it down, but still, I got closer to the summit.
As I got closer to the tip, I saw a figure but I could not make it anything extra, all I knew was someone was there, and whoever it was beckoned to me.
I felt the pull from the beckoning and so I kept moving closer. And then...
I slipped.
