Margot stared at her phone, then looked up at Cassian in shock.
"He was throwing a full-on tantrum, and you just hung up on him..."
She had thought Cassian took the phone to comfort their son. Who would have guessed he'd be this ruthless?
Cassian smirked, his eyes calm and indifferent. "If you actually believe he's crying for real, you might as well believe I'm the emperor."
Hearing that kind of joke from him made it feel especially cold.
Margot twitched her lips. "Even so, you didn't have to just hang up like that..."
Toby was probably really upset.
Thinking about it, Margot instinctively reached for her phone to call him back, but Cassian stopped her. "Ignore him."
"Ignore him? That's our son!" Margot pouted.
Toby's wailing from the phone call still echoed in her ears.
