Chloe's POV

"I knew it. You weren't really abducted. With that body of yours, I think you have a big advantage in a hand to hand combat."

Did he really think I was dumb enough to believe that someone took him while at school? But I'm not gonna lie, that really bothered me for a moment.

"Very well. Now I am more eager to recruit you in my club. Congrats on deciphering the beyond simpl code."

Simple? It took me minutes before I deciphered it and if it was not for the internet, I wouldn't have know a single letter from it. But I got more questions to ask him.

"But how?"

"What how?" I can't really tell if he's confused, none of his facial muscle changed.

"How did you know I was gonna go in there?"

"Hmm?"

This man! Why is he acting like he didn't know what I am talking about.

I sighed, "Considering that you prepared the fake a*******n, you probably predicted that I will go in there the time you also predicted."

"Oh, no. Of course not."

"What do you mean 'no'?"

"I didn't predicted it. I knew you were gonna come in there."

"Well, last night when you slapped me, I observed your facial expression before you enter your room. You were shocked with what you did, you're guilty." he answered as if he knew I was asking in my mind.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean too. I was just-"

"...confused?"

I nod my head.

He sighed and paused for a second or two before continuing, "No one will believe what you have to say. You have no evidence."

"What about th-"

"...CCTV? We checked it. The moment you were abducted was not recorded. The only thing that has seen is that you and your friend walking together leaving the campus. It was tampered."

"Th-"

"...text messages and picture? It is not enough."

"How is that not enough?"

"Once we report it to the campus police. They will believe that's just a hoax. There's no witnesses, Chloe."

"So are you saying that I should just let the person abducted me to walk freely?"

"No. But..."

"But what?"

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, "You are now on that person's list, Chloe."

List? Who is 'that person'?

"Wait. I am new here. Why would someone target me if I did nothing wrong?"

"There's a better explanation of this that I believe you wanna know. But for now I suggest that you don't tell anyone about your abduction."

Earlier, Mr. Fergal also reminded me about it. My trust issues is getting worse. I don't know who to trust and who to ignore anymore.

"If you really wanna know about it. Then I ask you to join the club. Once you joined, I will answer every questions you'll ask but there's one condition."

"What is it?"

He took a step closer to me and look at me in the eyes, "You shall keep every information confidential."

I wasn't intimidated at all. Keeping isn't that hard for me. And I really want to know the reason behind my a*******n.

"I hereby accept your invitation for me to become a member of your club."
