Chapter Two - Light Relief Horace slept better than he had expected, but woke up earlier than he had anticipated. Thoughts about the end of that dream and what could have brought it on rattled around his head. The nurse appeared later, bringing him a small glass of something that looked like watery milk. She explained that it was to stabilize his stomach, and joked that it was all he was going to be allowed to have for the next three days. It did not taste too bad in spite of its strange scent. After that, he got out of the bed, and the nurse escorted him into the adjoining bathroom again and then waited outside.
