" You knew the whole damn time ?" Sherman muttered, breath hot against my mouth as we finally pulled away.
His mouth was flushed, slightly swollen, and his blue eyes glimmered with a mixture of desire and amusement. That kiss had been everything we'd been holding back for months.
I laughed softly, reaching up to straighten his crimson tie, which had gone askew during our embrace. "Come on, you weren't exactly subtle about booking this suite."
His lips curled into that predatory smile. "Would you have preferred I kept it a secret ?"
"God, no," I shook my head, my fingers lingering on his chest. "After everything that's happened, I think I'm done with surprises for at least the next decade."
We both laughed, the sound filling the luxurious hotel suite.
