  Silvia   I jerked away from Zack's touch like it was acid on my skin, twisting my head so hard I nearly gave myself whiplash.   Every inch of me screamed in revulsion at his proximity.   His face twisted in that fake calm expression he always wore right before he lost it. “Why? Really, Silvia? You’re gonna stand there and ask me why?”   His voice was low but sharp, like he was trying not to shout but couldn’t quite hold back the venom.   “You don’t even feel bad, do you?” he hissed. “Not a shred of remorse. I was your mate—your fated one. We were supposed to build a life together, remember?”   I didn’t answer. I couldn’t. My throat had gone dry, and my stomach churned.   “All you had to do was stay quiet. Look the other way. Just once,” he growled, his voice rising with each word.
