Chapter 3Radhi parked the cart by the car. He put the nonperishable stuff on the back seat. Oscar didn’t look up from that computer. Weird. He popped the trunk and filled the ice chest. The meat and eggs might last three days. After that, they could probably catch some fish. Throwing in the last bag of ice, he huffed a little. Oscar could have offered to help. He just stared at the screen. Radhi had noticed some of this before the breakup. He never got around to asking why, not with everything else going on. At least Oscar didn’t bring the laptop to bed. That would have been a problem. He slammed the trunk closed, louder than needed, and got in the car—unnoticed. He stared at Oscar fixated on the laptop.
