The first person I saw when I followed Victor and Zayasu out of the room was my stupid best friend. Standing there with a gleaming smile on his face, Jon gestured towards the pair sitting on the sofas. I couldn’t see Kaitlin's face, for she was sitting with her back facing us, while Nate was sitting at the edge of the sofa in front of her. He had his entire attention on her that he didn’t even notice us getting into the room. I had never seen him so focused. It was as if she was the center of his universe. The universe was an understatement.
