Rina's POV.
As I watched my stepsisters practically drape themselves over Kade, a part of me wanted to walk over and intervene. They couldn’t hide their obvious interest, fluttering their lashes, flashing rehearsed smiles, and fawning over him as though he were their personal prize. I was torn between irritation and jealousy that bubbled beneath my calmness.
I couldn’t blame Kade, though. He hadn’t the slightest idea of what they were really like. To him, they were simply my family, people he thought I had a connection with. If he knew the truth…the torment, the cruelty…I knew he’d unleash fury I wasn’t prepared to handle tonight.
