Derick and I walked into the lobby to find Danika waiting by the reception area talking to Tamikas daughter, but seeing us, she smiled warmly and approached us.
"Mom, I told you that you didn't need to come," Derick said as he leaned down and kissed her cheek.
"Nonsense, of course I should be here," She dismissed his comments, "How are you this morning, dear?"
"I'm fine your majesty, thank you."
Her face fell slightly, at my words, "Dear, you can call me mom, if you'd like."
"I don't think so, your majesty," I said firmly, making my stance known, "Yesterday, when I was being looked down on for my heritage, you said nothing in my defense. I think the mother title is a little premature. I think it's best to stick with formal titles for now."
