I woke up with Lip’s scent all around me, but his warmth was gone. I opened my eyes, looking down at the blanket that had been pulled up around me. For the first time in my life this strange surreal feeling settled over me.
I felt content.
I felt happy.
I felt loved.
I stretched, disappointed that Lip was gone. I thought we’d wake up still tangled up in each other and possibly go for another round. I sat up, the sheet fell down to my waist. Then I heard the bedroom door opened. I tried to cover myself quickly, only to see my mate walk through the door.
I stuck out my bottom lip, no longer attempting to cover myself up with the blanket anymore. He had already seen everything, I had never felt more comfortable with anyone in my life.
I held his eyes with mine. “You left me.”
He was carrying a tray with food as he sat back down in his spot beside me. “I’m sorry. I just thought breakfast in bed would be romantic. And I don’t want to share you with anyone else until I have to today.”
He leaned in and kissed me, the sheet falling down even further along my waist. His hand came up and brushed against my n****e before he pushed my hair over my shoulder, then his finger tip brushed lightly against the damn marking spot.
“I don’t want to share you either.” I whispered as I pulled away. “But I should go grab some clothes.”
He shook his head. “You eat. I’ll get you something.”
He went to his closet and grabbed something as I started to eat the pancakes he brought me. I smiled as he came back with a big gray shirt that looked well worn and soft.
“Thanks.” I pulled the shirt on and glared. “If I remember correctly you ripped my underwear. I have to go to my room eventually, Lip.”
“I was thinking… you could move into my room now. Make it our room.” His cheeks were pink and he looked nervous. Seeing an alpha nervous and shy was the cutest thing ever.
I bit my cheek. “Isn’t it too soon?”
“Max. Most mates wait days until they’re together and marked and basically married. This has been longer than most. Not that I’m complaining I just. Want you in my bed every night and every morning. You said you were worried about me yesterday. This way we wouldn’t worry about each other at night.”
I set my plate on the nightstand beside me. “I just feel like if I agree to move in with you, then I’m giving up my life back home. I love you.” Tears filled my eyes as I looked at him. “But I loved training and hunting. I love protecting my people. I don’t want to have to choose a side. I love people on both.”
Lip’s big hand cupped my cheek as he leaned in and kissed me softly. “I would never make you choose. You can be my warrior, Max. My warrior Luna. Fight with us, protect us. Moving into my bedroom, our suite, doesn't mean defeat. It just means we’re mates who want to spent time together.”
I smiled at him, my hand coming up to his cheek. “How do you always know exactly what to say.”
He laughed, it was low and reminded me of his growl. He pressed his thumb against my chin. “Magic.” He whispered before capturing my lips once more.
“Okay.” I answered, dizzy and drunk on his touch. “I’ll move my things into your suite. But can I keep that room in case we ever just need… space?”
“Of course. We’ll make it your office.” His eyes glazed over and I knew he was talking to someone in his mind. He smiled when he came back to me. “It’s settled. Aimee and Sara will be taking you out for a girls day later, then I’ll have the guys help me move you in.”
“I can move my stuff, it’s not a lot.”
“No. I want to surprise you.” He kissed me again. “Before I let you go with my sister and Aimee are you finished with breakfast? Because I myself am starving.”
“Because you haven’t touched your food.” I whispered his eyes slowly turning black as he pushed me against the pillows.
He laughed against my neck. “Not for food, Max. For you.”
I shivered as he pushed his shirt aside, his hand moved between my thighs and my heart pounded inside my chest. He slowly moved his finger down my center and my knees fell open to his touch. He kissed me, then ran his teeth down my skin.
I angled my hips moving his finger to my sweet spot. My eyes rolled closed. “Lip. Oh my god. Lip.”
He sucked hard against my neck and the words fell out of my mouth before I could think them through. “Mark me.”
He stopped kissing me. “Max. I don’t think…” he kept moving his finger, but he slowed his pace. I opened my eyes and found him staring down at me. “Not yet.”
“You don’t want to mark me?” I thought that’s what all wolves wanted.
He pushed another finger inside me as I gasped, grabbed his arms for support. “I want to mark you, god I’ve wanted to mark you ever since I met you. But you’re still adjusting. You just agreed to move in with me.”
I nodded, moving my hips against his hand. “I want to mark you.”
He moaned as he kissed down my thigh. “Patience love. We will get there.”
Then he took me into his mouth as he kept moving his fingers, speeding up to push me closer and closer to the edge. I moaned, pushing myself against his face, no shame at all.
“Yes. Yes.” I panted as he kept going, then as I hit the edge and fell he pulled his fingers out and moved over me, pushing in as my body kept squirming underneath him.
Lip moaned as he kissed me. “You feel amazing.” He said against my neck. I moved with him, feeling sparks between us as we moved together.
I ran my nails over his scalp as I bit down gently on his neck. He groaned against my throat. “Not fair.”
I giggled as he pushed himself in further, my legs wrapping tightly around his waist and holding him there as I moved my hips up and down. Lip wrapped his arms around me and pulled me up so I was sitting on his lap.
“You are.” He groaned as he held me tightly against him. “So f*****g perfect.”
“Mmhm.” I closed my eyes another release washing over me. I fell limply against him, his own following quickly after mine.
We were both sweating, panting, Lip still held me on his lap. I giggled looking at his neck. “What’s so funny?” He asked playfully, his eyes searching mine like he was worried.
I ran my finger over the hickey. “I marked you.”
His arms fell off me, I fell onto the bed as he stood up and went to the the bathroom. I kept laughing as he came out and looked at me with wide eyes.
“Max Calloway.”
I couldn’t control my laughter as he grabbed me by the waist and tickled me. “I told you I wanted to mark you.”
He cut off my laughter with a kiss as he pulled me back into his side. “I should’ve marked you.”
“Now all the wolf girls will stop staring at you when we’re clearly together.” I sighed happily as I nestled into his chest. “Because you’re mine.”
He laughed, running his fingers lightly over my hip. “Yeah well. I’ve seen how some of my pack members look at you. It took all my control not to mark you when you begged me to.”
I rolled my eyes. “I didn’t beg. I asked nicely.” I waited a second before asking him my next question. “How will that work? Me marking you? I don’t have fangs.”
“I’m not sure. But we’ll figure it out when the time comes.” He whispered against my forehead. I closed my eyes, warm and content in his arms.
“Do you have anywhere you have to be yet?” I didn’t even know what time it was. But I wanted to stay here in our bubble for as long as possible.
Lip pulled us back down under the blanket, pulling me so I was laying on his chest. “Nowhere I’d rather be then here, sweetheart.”
“Don’t leave until I wake up this time.” I kissed his chest before letting the sound of his heartbeat lull me back to sleep.
