The sun was still in the sky but it would be setting soon. Lip didn’t want us walking so we took my Jeep. He lifted me into the passenger side before running around and jumping into the drivers seat. I grabbed his hand trying to push away my anxiety while also taking his. “They just want to talk.” I whispered, leaning into him. “I just wanted to talk the first time we met. Maybe they’ll want a treaty or a truce. Maybe he just wants to discuss everything that’s happened.
