Artemis pulled Ember’s seat for her as she sat down. He ended with a kiss to the top of her head. She felt absolutely starved. The banquet hall was filled with people and food that never seemed to stop moving. Artemis loaded her plate full of meat and sides of potatoes and grain. She collected a small fruit cup as she listened to chatter between Robert and his children. Jackson sat a few seats down with Willow sitting at his side. They looked happy, truly happy. This was more than Ember could ever hope for. Jackson deserved his happiness. She was also excited that she would soon be an aunt. Things were going well for her brother. She just hoped that things would continue going well for herself.
