“Not until you release the child!” Ember demanded. Cadence scoffed and tossed the girl forward. Ember gave her a reassuring smile, as the little girl got up and scrambled to her feet running towards Ember. “I didn’t say how long.” Cadence sneered and lurched forward to drive a knife Into the girl from behind.
Ember didn’t think, her feet were moving before she could stop them. She dug in her heels and managed to tackle Dahlia down and slide out of the way before Cadence could land the blow with her knife
