The ship was nearing the land, but the biggest obstacle was the thick fog looming around the island. As they moved forward, the waves grew stronger, and the ship began to rock violently. Alex turned to Ena, his voice firm yet concerned.
"Hold onto something strong, Ena! You might fall off!" he warned.
The storm intensified, heavy rain pouring down while the wind howled. Oliver gripped the wheel tightly, trying to keep the ship steady, but the violent waves and the raging wind made it nearly impossible. They were close to the island, but the ship refused to move forward any further.
Suddenly, a massive wave crashed against the ship, and Ena lost her balance. Before she could react, she was thrown overboard into the turbulent waters.
"Ena!" Alex shouted, his heart pounding.
Without hesitation, he turned to Oliver. "Take the ship to the island! I'll save Ena!"
With that, he leaped into the raging waters. The cold current engulfed him instantly, but he forced himself to focus. Scanning the waters, he spotted Ena, her body struggling against the violent waves. He swam towards her with all his strength, grabbing her before she could sink deeper.
Holding her close, he began swimming toward the island, but just as he made progress, a sudden sharp pain shot through his leg. A shark had bitten him. Blood mixed with the water, and his movements slowed. His leg grew numb, and the exhaustion weighed heavily on him. Ena had already lost consciousness, and now, his own vision blurred.
They were sinking.
On the ship, Oliver fought against the storm, guiding the vessel toward the shore. He had faith in Alex—he would save Ena.
Just when Alex's eyes were about to close, he caught a glimpse of something. A girl.
She moved swiftly through the water, reaching them effortlessly. With a surprising strength, she pulled both of them above the surface and guided them to the shore. Once on the sand, she tore a piece of cloth and wrapped it tightly around Alex's injured leg, trying to stop the bleeding. Then, turning to Ena, she pressed down on her chest, attempting to revive her.
A moment later, Ena gasped, coughing up water.
The girl then shifted her focus to Alex, pressing on his chest, willing him to wake up. As she looked at his unconscious face, an unexplainable feeling washed over her.
She kept trying, refusing to give up.
Meanwhile, Oliver had managed to bring the ship safely to the shore. The moment it stopped, he rushed down, his breath hitching when he saw the mysterious girl trying to wake Alex and Ena.
Who was she?
Oliver stepped forward, his eyes scanning the mysterious girl who had saved Alex and Ena. His voice was firm yet curious as he asked, "Who are you? And what’s your name?"
The girl met his gaze with calm confidence. "My name is Sera," she replied. "Were these two with you?"
Oliver nodded. "Yes, they are my friends. Are they okay? What happened to them?"
Sera glanced at Alex and Ena before answering, "They are fine, but the boy has an injury on his leg. He lost a lot of blood, but I’ve wrapped it up to stop the bleeding."
Oliver exhaled in relief. "His name is Alex," he said, before motioning toward Ena. "And she is Ena."
Sera tilted her head slightly. "And you?" she asked with a faint smile.
"Oliver," he replied.
Sera nodded, then her gaze darkened slightly with curiosity. "So, why are you here? Did you come to this island for a reason, or was it by accident?"
Oliver had countless questions swirling in his mind. Who was this girl? Did she live here? And if she did, was this island truly uninhabited as they had thought? Something didn’t add up.
His fingers instinctively reached into his pocket, pulling out the locket he always carried with him. The moment it touched his palm, a strange glow radiated from it, pulsing like a heartbeat.
Oliver's eyes widened in confusion. This had never happened before. something wrong with this locket
Oliver looked at Sera and asked, "How long have you been living here? And does anyone else live with you?"
Sera smiled slightly and replied, "No, I live alone on this island. It's been so long since I've seen other people… I'm really happy."
Just then, Alex, who had been unconscious, slowly regained consciousness. As soon as his eyes fell on Sera, a realization struck him—she was the girl who had saved his life. With gratitude in his voice, he said, "You saved my life… thank you!"
Sera shook her head gently and said, "There's no need to thank me. It was my duty."
Alex, still surprised, asked, "So you really live on this island?"
Sera nodded. Curiosity filled her eyes as she asked, "But why are you all here?"
Alex's expression turned serious as he replied, "We've come here for a purpose."
Sera's voice lowered slightly as she said, "Do you know that a dragon lives on this island?"
Without hesitation, Alex responded, "Yes, we know about it." Then, looking at Sera with curiosity, he asked, "How long have you been here?"
Sera glanced into the distance as if recalling a memory. "Since I was a child," she said. "But I've managed to survive without catching the dragon's attention."
Impressed by her resilience, Alex said, "That means you've faced many hardships… you're really brave!"
Sera let out a small laugh and said, "You say the strangest things."
Suddenly, Alex remembered Ena and asked with concern, "Why hasn't Ena woken up yet?"
Sera looked at Ena and explained, "She lost consciousness because of the water, but she'll wake up soon."
Then, turning to the group, she said, "Come to my house. You can rest there for a while."
Alex and Oliver thanked her for her kindness. Alex carefully lifted Ena in his arms, and together, the three of them started walking toward Sera's home.
