CHAPTER SIXTEEN
At six-forty-five a.m., they returned to the hospital. Blake had successfully talked Meghan and Drew both into catching at least a few hours’ sleep.
“She was moved to ICU very early this morning,” the helpful and friendly volunteer said once she’d looked up Trixie’s name in the hospital database. “You’ve got good timing. Visiting hours start in just a few minutes. Fourth floor. You can take the elevators just over there to the left.”
When they stepped off the elevator, they were greeted by another volunteer whose lapel tag said ‘Valerie.’
