Tracy's POV
The forest blurred around me as I sprinted my feet pounding against the floor as fast as I could. My lungs burned with exhaustion and my heart compensated by thrashing against my rib cage.
“It's right behind us!”
“Oh my goodness!” I cried, zooming past the trees. Twigs snapped underneath my foot while the snarls of the werebear grew louder behind me.
I veered sharply to the left, leaping over a falling log, but the werebear's massive bulky figure crashed through it like it was paper.
Panic clawed at me when my foot got stuck on a root, sending me sprawling on the ground. “Get up Tracy we're going to die!” Amaris yelled in my head.
I scrambled to my feet, but before I could take another step, a massive paw swiped at my back and the impact sent me flying.
