Kyle’s POV
I watched as my words registered in Tracy’s brain, her face moving from shock to utter disbelief.
“What are you talking about?” She frowned “My dad was killed by rogues…in werewolves territory,” she added. “It has absolutely nothing to do with the twins.”
I smiled, as I watched her formerly poised exterior crumbling. “Because that's what they made you believe, isn't it?”
“Kyle, the fact that I agreed to team up with you doesn't give you the right to bring up my dead Dad,” she still had that frown on her face, but this time tears brimmed in her eyes as well.
“I'm sorry for bringing back hurtful memories,” I apologized, something I rarely do unless I was pretending to be a weakling. “But I feel I owe you the truth, since you're my friend and all that.”
