Chapter fifteen

Johns Pov

It has been one whole week since I read that letter and I have yet to tell Martha about it. I know that I should tell her, but I don't think I should because I don't want her to stress too much and harm our unborn children. All that we have gathered is that this guy is claiming to Martha's true mate and that makes me enraged, and the thought of him trying to take away my mate and children enrages me even more.

I have decided to tell Martha about the note because she has a right to know about it. When I reach our room I see Martha in the chair reading a book and she looks engrossed in it. I enter the dimly lit room and close the door behind me. She looks up to the sound of the door closing and puts her book down, she looks at me with concern in her eyes. I give her a smile to try and soothe her, but it does nothing to help. I sit down and utter the words that I've been dreading all week, “We found another letter.”, with those four words, she seems to halt all motion.

Martha’s Pov

Once he said those words I didn't move, I was too scared and worried about what it said. All of these questions came to my mind at once. What did it say? Is he coming for me and my babies? Is he going to hurt John? Is he going to hurt my pack?

John seemed to know that the questions were flying around and he said “Baby, please calm down. The letter was addressed to me. It said that I was keeping you from him and that you are his true mate. I promise you that I will do everything within my power to keep you and our pups safe from him. Okay? You need to trust that I will protect you and calm down. Stressing isn't going to get us anywhere and it's not healthy for the babies.” With those words, I calmed down and shook my head to say okay. He's right stressing out won't help us and it can harm the pups and that's the last thing I ever want to do.

I said “What are we going to do about this guy? I'm really confused and I'm not sure who he is because everyone at my old pack despised me and treated me like s**t. So, if someone really is saying that I'm their mate and they knew me back at my old pack, then why didn't they help me as you did? I'm pretty sure that no one from our pack would do this because we're all like a family here so that only leaves my old pack and the rouges.” "You make a good point, but just to make sure we will keep our guard up because we don't want any surprises."
