Bullying? or that Seemed the Intent 2.20

Victoria paused mid step as she headed through the main building for the veranda at the sight of Sorrel and five of the normie popular girls headed into the Serenity Garden. Ella and her four friends Freda, Gwenda, Henrietta and Isla were considered the most popular girls amongst the humans. Quite a few of the more powerful Realmskin had taken a liking to Ella herself while Freda and Gwenda were currently dating an alpha Wolfskin and Lionskin respectively though it seemed they didn’t know about their boyfriends Beasts yet. Still no matter which way Victoria sliced it she couldn’t think of any reason that Sorrel would be going anywhere with that group. Particularly when Sorrel would normally be having lunch with Kayad. “they definitely shouldn’t’ be going to the Serenity Gardens.” Victoria muttered to herself. There had been a general school warning that the area was off limits due to an influx of caltrops so far as the human’s were concerned. While the Others had been warned that a predatory plant had potentially moved into the area. Deciding that it was better to investigate than be too late Victoria turned to her friend Liza and asked “Can you take my books back? I saw the new guy looking lost. I’m just going to check on him.” “Sure. You're in his club right? Go earn some good rep then.” Liza responded as she reached out to take Victoria’s books. Victoria smiled at the gentle Rabbitskin and rushed off. Relying on her speed Vitoria exited the main building and leapt into the trees. She shuffled from branch to branch towards the centre of the garden where she had seen the others heading. “How do you have the gall to stand next to him?” Isla’s strident tone cleared the direction and Victoria hopped along the last two trees to crouch among the leaves so that she looked down at the group. Sorrel stood with his back to the central fountain with Ella directly in front of him while the other girls fanned out around her. Isla stood on the far right with her hands on her hips as she looked sharply at Sorrel. Sorrel on the other hand had a blank expression as he looked back at the group. Victoria looked closer and thought that there was a vague excitement in his eyes, but decided she might be imagining things six weeks was not enough time to be able to tell how he’d react to bullying. Though so far as Victoria could tell Sorrel was very easy going. He would likely not want to hurt the girls so he might just take the abuse. “Looking pretty on the outside to snag attention. How utterly base.” Freda commented as she tilted her head in an attempt to look down at Sorrel despite her shorter height. When Sorrel still had no reaction Victoria decided that she should go down and intervene. While Sorrel might have a problem dealing with some normie brats Victoria had no such qualms. *wait* the cool voice in her head corresponded to a fine vine wrapping around her wrist and stopped Victoria mid motion. Victoria lowered her head and stared at Sephy’s tail wrapped around her wrist before Victoria focused on the familiar’s face. *Sorrel is not concerned. Leave it for the moment.* Victoria settled back in a crouch. If Sorrel’s familiar said it’s fine then she decided to just wait. “The only reason he’s with you is cause you're easy. A ‘bro’ like you, what care do you need” Gwenda added as she raised her hand and pointed at Sorrel before looking him up and down and shaking her head. Victoria clenched her teeth on a retort as her eye twitched. Sorry what? bike lessons, fancy dinners help with homework for every class. A suspiciously coincidental shift so that all the classes matched. Sharing meals every recess and lunch. As well as the accidental meetings on weekends. If it weren’t for the fact that Kayad was so damn obvious it would one hundred percent be stalking. Moreover, his detailed focus on everything that Sorrel liked, which foods which scents which places was practically compulsive. If that was a lack of care then Victoria was honestly terrified to think what good care looked like. “You're so filthy, a cling on like gum on your shoe.” Henriette sneered. It was not a pretty expression and no doubt would be off putting for the people pursuing her but she was the least articulate of the group so it wasn’t surprising that she didn’t have something particularly argumentative to add. “Now girl’s no need to stoop so low as to resort to name calling. We are more refined than that.” Ella said as she waved her hands at the other girls. “Right how could we sin to his level,” Freda responded as she restrained her expression into a calm disdain. Victoria hurriedly raised a hand to cover her mouth. Sorrel hadn’t spoken yet so at what level could be implied to be stooped to? Victoria was suddenly less worried about Sorrel being upset and more concerned about whether the girls would suffer an emotional breakdown once they realised the facts. Victoria was starting to find the group now sort of pitifully cute. Like she felt bad for their current state of mind but it was adorable how they were trying to act tough. “You should save yourself the trouble, just walk away,” Ella said kindly with a gentle smile on her face as she twirled her fingers. Nice dream there, but it's guaranteed that no matter how far Sorrel walked Kayad would be right behind him so long as he didn’t find a way to cut him off anyway. Victoria was still a bit surprised she didn’t realise that the school belle liked Kayad. Was it just an attraction to the bad boy?
